This Christmas moss tissue culture is ready to grow as an aquarium plant and free from algae, pests, and snails. Christmas moss is also known as Vesicularia montagnei, or less commonly, Christmas tree moss. There are a few “variations” of this moss, like mini and Brazillian – which are recently-described species of Vesicularia – that are still sometimes called “Christmas moss” but they’re technically not.This moss is considered to be the easy one to keep. Really, it is completely undemanding and it can successfully grow at room temperature, it can vary from +18 to +26°C. Water hardness and its pH doesn’t play any significant role here, but yet it’s better to stick to average values of these parameters in a tank.

This aquarium moss grows rather fast. That’s why to maintain an aquascape composition you should cut from time to time. Otherwise, because of lack of light in the bottom layers they may start to rot and fall off a stone or a snag.

There are two ways you can cut:

  • Cut the whole upper layer. After this the moss will grow many small and short brunches and they will make a fluffy hillock.
  • Cut the moss brunches selectively and leave the most branchy shoots. After such a cut the moss will grow ‘hanging’ hillocks.

The shipment must be received on the first delivery attempt. If you miss the delivery and the package is delayed a day or more because of it, we cannot accept responsibility for any losses. It is your responsibility to check the tracking number for delivery. The shipment must be sent to the correct delivery address on file according to Paypal, do not request shipment to be delivered to another address not listed on your Paypal or eBay account.

NOTE: We are not responsible for errors, postal delays, wrong addresses mail holds, or P.O. Box deliveries by the postal carrier. If USPS forwards your shipment in error, we do cover that type of mistake.

All claims must be made and or brought to our attention via eBay Messages within 24 hours of the package being delivered. 

We ship USPS FIRST CLASS the majority of the time. If you would like to receive the plant sooner, you can opt for the USPS PRIORITY MAIL which would take a delivery time of 2-4 days. THIS WILL BE AT AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO YOU. You will get a tracking number, it is important you check this tracking number 2-3 times each day to see when the box will arrive at your home. Please make sure you are at home the day of the arrival or arrange for someone to be there to receive the plants/shrimp and that they know how to properly care for the plants/shrimp. The less time they spend in the box the better.

Shore Aquatic ships Monday & Tuesday in order to avoid the weekend. All orders placed after Monday 12 PM will be shipped the following Monday. 

When will items ship? 

We reserve the right to hold delivery due to inclement weather.

If you would like to receive your item faster, we recommend purchasing priority mail. 

Temperature is very important for live delivery of plants. Please check the 7-day weather forecast in your location before placing your order. If the temperature in the coming days is too low (below 35F) or too high (above 90F), please do not order.  

NOTE: USPS is slower than normal due to COVID restrictions.

DOA/Damaged Claims:

It is our honor and privilege to serve you. We hope that you are satisfied with everything. If you are for some reason not satisfied, please let us know as we are here to help make this hobby easy and enjoyable! 

Livestock:

We guarantee live arrival on all our livestock. In the rare event livestock shows up dead, we must be notified within 2 hours of delivery. Keep in mind these plants/livestock just took the journey of their lifetime in a dark box for 2-4 days so they will take time to recover and to be at their best again. Please take clear photos of the dead plant/livestock and send it to us within 2 hours of receiving the item and send the clear photos to ebay once the item is validated by us, we will send a replacement or refund. 

Failure to comply with one or more of these policies will mean we can no longer cover you.

We guarantee live arrival of all livestock. This means we assure that livestock will show up alive. We do not guarantee your success in keeping the livestock alive/healthy. Lots of outside factors that we cannot control go into the success or failure of keeping livestock healthy. We are here to help but are not liable after you have received the livestock alive. 

Do your plants have snails? 

We try not to have snails/pests, but it happens, we remove any visible imperfections before shipment however to be 100% certain we suggest that you either do a 1:20 ratio bleach to water dip and/or wash the plants. Anytime you add something new to an aquarium it is important to rinse it off before adding just to be safe.
