A general quickstart manual for the IT-8000/IT-9000 terminal and the software that usually comes with it can be found here

1)    System requirements

Dualcore 2,2,GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP Professional, Windows must be installed on C: a partition  D: hast o exist for data exchange/cache purposes

Internetconnection for activation and maintenance

 

2)    Installation

Installation is only executed by Silverlab Solutions GmbH support employees! For questions regarding this issue feel free to contact our sales department.

 

3)    Configuration of the Kiosk

 

Step 1: Going to the console, To bring up the user menu first click on the screen to make the screensaver disappear. You will see the following screen.

 

Click and hold the marked area (1 cm from the bottom right corner of the title menu and 1 cm tot he left) fot about 3-5 seconds.

Step 2: Enter password

 

 

Enter the password „silv“ and click „Continue“.

 

Step 3: going tot he configuration menu

Click on  “Configuration“ for price changes.

Click on  „Shutdown Kiosk“ to close down the Kiosk software.

 

Step 4: changing prices

1. click on "Prices"

2. If you have multiple services (instant prints, Minilab, external fulfillment by laboratory) you can select the desired product line by choosing from the „service level“ drop-down.

3. Choose the product you like from the table and change the price break

4. Here you can change the VAT

5. double click on the product price and enter the price

6. change additional costs here

7. Mark the product to activate/deactivate a product

8. When you have the products accordingly click on „done“ to accept the changes.

 

 

3. Repeating an order

Methode A)

 

Change to the console as described in Step 2 and select “repeat order. Then enter the order number from the receipt and confirm it with “continue” The order will then be sent out /produced entirely again.

 

Methode B)

Go tot he configuration as described in step  3 and go to „Orders“.

Here you have an order overview with names (you will even find the products ordered under „details“). Click on “release again” to repeat an order. Additionally you will have the possibility to reprint the receipt from that order. Just click on “Reprint receipt” and selsct the receipt you would like.

 

4. Shutdown terminal

 

Methode 1) Exit the kiosk-software as described in Steps 2/3. Then click on Start => Shutdown Computer => Shutdown.

 

Methode 2) Go tot he console using end, the go the configuration menu. Under “System” you can let the terminal shutdown.

 

Important: Please always shutdown the terminal properly. Directly shutting down or pulling the powerplug may result in broken Windows registry entries so that the terminal may have difficulties starting up!

 

 

Silverlab Kiosk settings

There are different settings available fort he Kiosk. Here is an overview about the most important features.

1. Changing prices

In the menu setting „prices“ you can change your prices, incl. price breaks and deactivate products as you like.

 

 

Selecting a product line

Choose the product line from the „Service Level“ drop down menu.

All Products = all products from every product line

Instant = instant prints from attached printers

Minilab = Own productions with Minilab(s), large format printers, etc….

Gifts = products ordered from external fulfillers like laboratories

 

Changing prices:

Mark a product an ddoubleclick on the price. Now entert he price (e.g. 0,29 for a 29 ct print price) and confirm that with „done“

Changing price breaks

Mark the product and click on „price breaks“. With „add“ you add a new price break and remove it by clicking „remove..

 

Create a price break/remove it again:

Step 1. Desired price break (e.g. 30 = starts from 30 pieces)

Step 2. Enter desired price per piece (e.g. 0,15 = 15 ct per print)

 

 

Deactivateing a product

 

Check the box before the product in the „available“ column.

 

 

 

 

2. Order fee, additional costs and VAT

 

In the „additional prices“ section you can define your order fee, and, if you like, additional costs for Bluetooth, text input, etc.

 

 

Service Level - instant = order fee for the instant print product line

Service Level - minilab = order fee for the own production product line

Service Level - gifts = order fee for products supplied by external producers and laboratories

 

After that come the additional costs, these are added for each single image of the order as soon as the customer does the according action.

 

There are the following possibilities:

 

edit = Editing of any kind

border = when adding a border or greeting card.

text = when adding texts

autocorrect = when choosing automatic colour correction

black_and_white = when blak and white colour correction is added

sepia = colour correction „Sepia”

duotone = colour correction „Duotone”

redeye = Red eye correction

source_bluetooth = Picture has been transferred via Bluutooth

source_irda = Picture has been transfered by Infrared (can also be used for scanners or other means)

source_scanner = Picture has been scanned

source_website = Picture has been loaded from an online source (currently not available)

source_local_stock = Picture was loaded from local stock photos folder

 

Calculation example (not displayed on screen):

You added additional costs of 1,50 for „source_local_stock“ (Photographers images).

If a customer selects an image from the local stock photos folder and prints a 10x15 from that (which costs 0,35 Euros) he will be billed 1,85 Euros.

 

Under „Set taxes“you can change the VAT. The value 0,19 would be 19% VAT.

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Connection to the superlab PC

 

In the  „Photokiosk“ menu you can set the input folder of the superlab-PC.

 

 

Use the button „ Browse“ in the last column and change the outputfolder of the kiosk.

 

Attention: the output has to conform with the input folder of the Superlab, otherwise orders will not be transmitted!

 

Note: When the set folder cannot be reached, e.g. becaus a network connection tot he Superlab does not work or the Superlab-PC has not been started, then the kiosk will not start up properly and will show you this menu. Then enter the path to the Superlab input folder again manually..

 

Note: changing paths may result in a non-functional kiosk.

 

 

4. Logos

 

 

Under "Logos" you can change logos for the receipt print..

Here you can set your own vendor logo for the receipt by clicking on „browse“ and selecting an image file.

Please note: If you want to use this feature it hast o be activated by a service-employee from Silverlab Solutions, as logo are usually not printed on the receipt..

 

 

5. Product arrangement

 

You may change naming of every product line and every product here.

 

 

Choose your product line from the upper menu

Instant = instant prints

Minilab = own production

Gifts = fulfillment by external laboratory

 

Now you can get to the desired product by follwoing down the tree and  change the naming oft he product by doubleclicking it and changing it to your liking..

 

Note: you also change the name for the three Minilab product lines here

Preset: Standard, Express, OVernight

 

 

Note: Please check wether every letter of the product you changed is displayed in the kiosk.

Note: Updating a kiosk may result in reverting the namings to standard values.

 

 

6. How to deactivate product grouping in the shopping cart

In the current version it is possible to group image products in the shopping cart according to their product type.

You can deactivate these grouping feature to display every picture ordered.

Close the Kiosk software (password: silv) and go to „Configuration“.

Go to  „Photokiosk“ on the left side.

Deactivate the option „Group articles in shopping cart“ and „Collapse groups on default“.

Confirm you settings with „Done“.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. product pre-choice in the picture pool

Produkt1aIn the current version images can be correlated to a product immedialtely in the picture selection screen. Now you can swiftly got to the shopping cart and really shorten the order process..

For this mark the photos you would like to order and click on „order images“.

 In the next step choose the product which you would like to order.

  

Produkt3aThe you will arrvice back in the picture pool . Here you will see the 10x15 chosen beforehand in the selection.

Then go the „Shopping cart“, the software will now pass all the steps between und jump right tot he shoping cart, where you can finish the order.

 

If the button „Order prints“ does not appear you can simply activate this feature in your kioks’s settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Necessary settings:

Close the kiosk by going to the console (password: silv) and go to “configuration”, go to “Photokiosk” on the left side and on “Quickorder products”.

 

Produkt4Simply choose which products you would like to have in this quickorder selection.

 

 

 

 

Confirm you settings by clicking on „OK“ and „Done“.

 

 

 

 

7. Apple and Android-Geräte:

The current versoin of the kiosksoftware allows connection of Smartphones with Apple iOS (newer than version 4) and Android (newer than version 2.4) by cable with the kiosk.

Simply connect your smartphone tot he front-USB port of the cardreader and wait for about 20 seconds untill it has been recognized by the operating system. Then click on “wired device to automatically transfer all the images..

 

 

For Android-Smartphones:

These work from version 2.4 onwards. Check wether the smartphone connects as camera. You may have to swith the connection type to camera in your phones system settings menu. The exact location of this settings may vary according to the exact type of smartphone you have. Please look this up in your phones instrauction manual.

For Apple-Geräte:

 

These connect automatically as cameras but under certain circumstances may take langer than 20 seconds (depending on IOS version and model number)
