Dark red & turquoise, with hints of orange & magenta were the starting point for this homage to Mark Rothko, the grand master of color field painting. The work was completed after I was able to repair the "scar" in the red field - see detailed photos. The vertical cut is a reference to the "scars" that artistic models sometimes leave in my soul and when transformed lead to powerful works. After much hesitation, I have decided to also present…
