VELO Freeze Ultra - Expert Review

The Velo / Lyft family of nicotine pouches is one of the longest lasting lines, going all the way back to the beginning of the tobacco-free nicotine pouch category. With a huge array of flavours and strengths, it has presented itself as one of the most versatile ranges of products on the market today. On that subject, it also has a LOT of mint flavours. Recently, four new mint variants have been launched under the Velo / Lyft banner, including this one, Freeze Ultra. This is one for those high octane users who like a product with a little kick to it, but also an icy flavour of mint. So, let’s get to know it better!

VELO Ultra Freeze open can

Opening the can, an icy, powerful aroma of mint greets you. It’s focused, and very present. It’s not super sweet, but has a dab of sweetness to it. It’s mostly a balanced aroma of peppermint with just a little menthol in the mix. The pouches are slim, with a soft fit and a decent moisture amount to them. They feel soft against the gum, and a nice fit in the lip. When you put one in, you’ll notice a cooling sensation that comes on, along with a subtle freshness to it. In the flavour profile, it’s a pretty sharp, focused taste of peppermint. It’s icy, and balanced out with just a little touch of menthol in the mix. Like the aroma, it has a little sweetness to it, but it’s not overly sweet. It’s a pretty well balanced, powerful taste of mint. In the nicotine department, this one has a pretty strong kick to it. If I had to place it, I’d say between strong and extra strong, but close to extra strong. It hits pretty quickly, and feels pretty strong. The flavour hangs out about 35-40 minutes or so, which is the usual longevity you come to expect from the Lyft / Velo series.

Wrap-Up & Recommendation:

There’s a reason Lyft and Velo are widely regarded as the top of the mountain in the nicotine pouch realm. This series has a high product quality, and a wide mix of flavors and strengths. No matter what you’re looking for, or what you like, you can easily find it in the Lyft / Velo range. If you like mint products but want something that has a strong kick to it, this is one you’ll be wanting to try out.

Snubie’s Opinion:

This one is much too strong for me personally so I wouldn’t consider it one I’d use or throw in the mix. I think Velo’s regular strength Mint is good, and has a nicer taste with the spearmint flavour. However, I think people who like mint are going to be quite pleased with this one, and really enjoy it.
