Description

Frédéric Henri Sandoz founded Henri Sandoz & Cie. in 1870. He then teamed up with Jules E. Sandoz to produce complicated watches under the name of Cyma. Henri also founded the ODIN Company, which specializes in complicated timepieces such as minute repeaters and chronographs.

In 1920, Henri's son Hermann Sandoz took over the Sandoz Company and renamed it Henry Sandoz & Fils after Henri died in 1913. From 1920 to 1926, the company moved its factory to La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In the following decades, the company continued to be renamed several times. Today, we know it as Sandoz & Co.

A native New Yorker from a family of connoisseurs, Greg Selch has collected watches for over 20 years, among many other things. Over the years, Selch has become well-known for his passion: “orphan watches” as well as well-worn watches with patina, for which a term has been created:  #selchism.
