The Chargers suffered one of their biggest losses in team history on the field in Week 15 against the Raiders.
They followed it up just six days later with one of their biggest-ever wins off it.
The victory had nothing to do with the actual team or its on-field performance. It was all about the Chargers' content creation team striking gold once again with a brilliant social media promo.
This time, it wasn't an anime version of Los Angeles' schedule release that featured jokes at the expense of the squad's opponents. Instead, the team used an over-the-top lawyer infomercial setup to bolster the Pro Bowl chances of Cameron Dicker.
The spot — which featured a brilliant performance from the ever-lovable "Dicker the Kicker" — almost instantly went viral. NFL fans were impressed by Dicker's acting chops while many noted that the video's energy shared similarities to the "Better Call Saul" infomercial that was first featured in "Breaking Bad."

'Dicker the Kicker' video
Dicker's video opens with him asking whether any NFL fans have "ever been victimized by a missed field goal" before showing three last-minute kicks from the season that cost the Saints and 49ers victories and the Patriots a chance to take the Giants to overtime.
Dicker then lets out a triumphant scream, and it's all uphill from there.
Dicker launches into a monologue highlighting his impressive range and accuracy. He intermittently jumps across the screen and "kicks" superimposed words that say "missed field goals" and "missed extra points" off to the side. That is then followed by a highlight reel of his makes, overdubbed with famed NBA announcer Mike Breen letting out his iconic "Bang!" shout to celebrate each make.
After a clearly edited cut of Justin Herbert praising him, Dicker then announces the intention of the video along with his catchphrase.
"Don't be a d— and let me kick for you at the Pro Bowl," he says.

Naturally, that video clip quickly went viral. Just 14 hours after its release, it has already garnered 3.4 million views from NFL fans who fell in love with the chaotic, "I Think You Should Leave"-type energy displayed by Dicker.
Suffice to say that will be enough to earn Dicker plenty of Pro Bowl votes; and at the very least, the legend of his rise to stardom has added another entertaining chapter.

Also helping Dicker's Pro Bowl case is the fact that he has been one of the NFL's most accurate kickers in 2023. Entering Week 16, he has made 19 of his 20 field goal attempts with his lone miss coming from 53 yards in Week 3 against the Vikings.
Since breaking into the NFL in 2022, Dicker has missed just two field goals. Both have come from 50-plus yards and despite this, he has made a respectable 66.7 percent of his kicks from that distance with a long of 55.

Dicker also has a penchant for making clutch, game-winning kicks and had one with both the Eagles and Chargers during his rookie season. As long as he continues to be among the league leaders in field goal percentage, he has as good a Pro Bowl case as anyone from the AFC.
Add in the lawyer infomercial spoof, and it would hardly be a surprise to see Dicker named as the AFC's kicking representative for the All-Star showcase.
