dm to install parcel lockers in 700 stores

European retail chain dm will install parcel lockers in 700 of its stores for click-and-collect of online orders.

Drogerie Markt (dm) stocks healthcare and health food lines, and has stores in 13 European coungtries.

Customers shopping online via dm’s app (Mein dm) or online store will have the option of collecting their orders at a “dm-Abholstation” (pick-up station) parcel locker.

Customers receive a collection code in the Mein dm app or by e-mail, which they then scan or type in at the station. For express collection, purchases are usually ready for collection within 3 hours.

Delivery to the lockers is free, but order fulfilment and collection are limited to store opening hours.

The parcel lockers can hold up to 26 orders, although the parcel locker bank in the photo below only has 22 doors.

Only shipments from dm can be delivered to the dm-Abholstation parcel lockers.

According to dm, it expects to install dm-Abholstation parcel lockers in about 700 stores by mid-2023.
