The Melon Barb is an active, but initially timid, medium sized barb ideal for a community of other barbs or similar sized fish. These fish should be kept in groups and provided with open swimming spaces as well as hiding spots and some vegetation around the tanks edges. The fish develops a mild pinky yellow body colour, hence the name 'melon' barb.
