Katy Perry will be the first one to admit that at 39 years old, she’s no longer living a teenage dream.

“I was crazy in my twenties but now I have a toddler who wakes me up at 6:30 whether I am hungover or not,” the singer said onstage Saturday at the final performance of her Las Vegas residency series, Play, according to The Sun.

“It’s shameful to be hungover with your kids,” she said. “I just hear, ‘Wake up, Mom, let’s watch Minions.”

“Now I am 39, if I drink more than two drinks then the next day... bad times. I am reevaluating my whole life the next day.”

Waking up in Vegas looks a little different for Perry these days, as she now knows the importance of falling asleep at a reasonable hour in Vegas: She’s been performing her show there on the weekends since December 2021, and celebrated her final concert with three-year-old daughter Daisy in the audience, in the arms of Perry’s fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom. It was the toddler’s first public appearance. Perry shouted out fellow artists who balance performance with parenthood.

“I have never done a tour or a show before, being a mother, and I want to say I now have a newfound respect for all the moms out there who do it,” she said. “They are raising kids, taking them to preschool, doing the sandwiches, and partying. You guys are rock stars. I am so glad I joined you.”

At one point, she addressed her daughter, dressed in a red-and-white polka-dotted Minnie Mouse dress and pink fuzzy protective earphones.

“Daisy!” Perry said in fan-captured video, wearing a headpiece and costume meant to evoke toilet paper. “I love you so much. You’re my best friend, and I’m so glad you’re here.”

She probably wasn’t mad about other famous faces in the audience for her final show, like Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Celine Dion, though they did not get their own shoutouts.

Later in the concert, Perry gushed more about her daughter and said she inspired the concept of the show, which imagines Perry as a toy come to life, making her way through the world.

“When I met her, it was like all the love I was ever searching for finally showed up. She made me whole, and she healed me, and she showed me how to play again,” she said, getting visibly emotional. “So this show is for everyone’s inner child and for the hope that maybe if we could all see life through the eyes of a child, we would be free.”
