About

It is a marked and signposted a 7 km long coastal trail on the west side of Eidangerfjorden between Skjelsvik boat harbor and Brevik town center. Starting from Skjelsvik boat harbor, the path follows the coastline with a beautiful view of the water.

Tangendammen – Historical ice production
On the way, you will pass Tangendammen, a reminder of the past when ice blocks were produced here for refrigerators in earlier times.

Traces from the past
On the Ørstvet Peninsula, you will find old trenches dating back to World War II.

Swimming opportunities at Hvalen and Malken beaches
Continuing along the way, past a charming small boat harbor and up to a road, you will soon reach Hvalen and Malken Beaches. It's a nice place to swim if the weather permits.

Stretch from Hvalen Beach to Brevik
From Hvalen Beach, a new stretch of coastal trail has been developed. Then you will arrive at a residential area and Heistad Beach, where it's also great to swim. Then a new section of coastal trail on a gravel road through fields, before you reach the old Norcem factories. From here to Brevik, you follow the road.

Viewpoints towards Langesund fjord
Along the entire coastal trail, you will find many great viewpoints overlooking the Langesund Fjord.

Planning and practical information
To get the best start to the journey, it's recommended to park at Mule Varde. From there, you can easily follow the pedestrian path down to Skjelsvik boat harbor, where you will reach the coastal trail itself after about 10 minutes.
