Emma Watson is one of those former child stars who has largely retreated from the spotlight, emerging only occasionally into public view for a handful of high-profile events. This naturally means there is always a heightened interest in anything she wears. The actor is the face of Prada’s Paradoxe fragrance (she also directed the campaign), and so was perched on the front row at Milan Fashion Week on Thursday, to see the new spring/summer 2024 collection from Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons.

To attend, she opted for a sleek all-black outfit over the more embellished looks from the house’s autumn/winter 2023 collection. Watson arrived at the show in a ’90s-esque minidress (and we do mean mini), with a delicate halter-neck. With its fitted silhouette and micro length, this dress could have been plucked from Victoria Beckham’s Posh Spice-era wardrobe.

Watson’s accessories were just as posh as her dress. Prada has been spearheading the return of the black court shoe in 2023: the razor-sharp glossy heels that appeared in the autumn/winter 2023 collection were an ongoing theme in Thursday’s show. Watson added this classic shoe to her minidress and had her hair styled in a flicky blow dry and pinned back with a black bow, all of which added further polish to her simple LBD. The star completed the look with Prada’s latest It-bag, the Arqué.

Watson was joined on the front row by Scarlett Johansson, who also wore a black minidress and pointed pumps, with one of Prada’s signature top-handle structured handbags. Together, they look effortlessly chic – and show why an LBD will always be one of the best wardrobe investments you can make.
