Mahne Frame Releases Debut EP -- KISS MY ASS, DEATH

Australian-born Mahne Frame’s self-released debut EP — KISS MY ASS, DEATH — is out September 13, 2019. The Friday the 13th offering consists of four tracks, all recorded (save for vocals) in a 7-Eleven located in Mahne’s current hometown of Tokyo. We at WMF were curious how the unlikely recording space could have worked logistically, but Mahne Frame explained that, “to be fair, Tokyo 7-Elevens are pretty kitted. It’s a real good place to focus [because] you can keep buying coffee and food.”

Fans of Kirin J Callinan may already recognize Mahne Frame, who has performed drum duties for Callinan since 2016. We’ve even seen references to Mahne as Kirin’s brother or half-brother, though Mahne clarified for us that they pair are siblings “emotionally but not physically.”

In any event, Mahne’s worthy, rave-tinged debut EP caught our attention, with track “Advice” especially standing out. We’re look forward to hearing more from Mahne Frame in the coming months and years.
