TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Idalia remained a tropical storm Wednesday night as it dumped rain over the Carolinas, according to the National Hurricane Center.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Idalia had maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and was moving northeast at 21 mph north-northwest of Charleston, South Carolina.

Forecasts expect Idalia to remain a tropical storm as it moves off-shore of the Carolinas Wednesday night into Thursday.
