Description
A rhizomatous perennial with alternate, simple leaves on arching stems; from each leaf axil one or two tubular flowers are suspended.
A woodland plant on calcareous soil.
Flowers
The tubular flowers are fragrant, white, tinged green, hanging along the underside of the branches.
Leaves
Elliptic oval leaf. Oval, alternate on the stem, 5-15 cm long.
Fruits Seeds
Berry: round and black.
Medical
Rhizomes: once a treatment for bruises.
