When Peter Moore yanked up his shirtsleeve at E3 this year to show us a tattoo of Grand Theft Auto IV's logo, then announced that the anticipated murder simulator would include exclusive downloadable gameplay episodes for its Xbox 360 release, two things went through my head:

  1. Whoa.
  2. You can bet Sony's not gonna stand for that.

Indeed, one had to figure that if Xbox got extra content, PlayStation 3 was going to get it too. And that's what's happening, says Eurogamer:

Interestingly, the downloadable content, our source maintains, will take the form of brand new areas which will link into the main GTAIV
game world."Think of the world as a large island - the new downloadable areas will be like smaller islands linking into it," the source explained.

So this poses an interesting conundrum: which version do you buy? Actually, I guess that's not so much a problem because if you have the scratch for both a 360 and a PS3, you can buy two copies of the game too, Moneybags.
