It is now getting late in the season in the area for snowshoe hikes. As I was going on on the Kraule Trail I met an employee of Sun Mountain Lodge who was removing marker stakes for the snow trails. The routes are still well defined and the Kraule Trail was still mostly snow with a few bare patches that about ten feet long. I went down to the Homestead area and planned to catch the View Ridge Trail for the return trip. There was a sign for the trailhead but no one had been on the trail for a long time so there was no evidence of where the trail was. I back tracked on the Kraule and took a connector to the View Ridge. A little over half way back I took off the snowshoes since most of the snow was melted on the southwest facing ridge.
