LAGRANGE, Ga. (WTVM) - The city of Lagrange is hosting the ‘Ride for Mayor Willie T. and Car Show’ at the Sweetland Amphitheater.

The event is slatecn for Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. and ending with a short awards ceremony at noon.

Following the ceremony, all vehicles are invited to participate in the “Ride for Mayor Willie T.” processional to Antioch, the late Mayor Willie T. Edmondson’s hometown.

Mayor Pro Tem Quay Boddie decided to create this event to honor the memory of the late Mayor Willie T. Edmondson. “Mayor Edmondson was a mentor to me and I always looked up to him. I know he had a love for cars and I thought this was a good way to bring the community together, keep his legacy alive, and raise money for his scholarship fund,” said Boddie.

The public is invited to attend the car show free of charge. There is a $25 charge to participate in the car show.
