Figures are sourced from the gay publication, Men, focusing on magazine issues between November 1998 and April 2002. The work reflects the reality of gay life at the turn of the 21st century. Digital photographs and photo collages documenting the life of Rock Hudson, a closeted gay actor who played straight characters in films during the second half of the 20th century. With fellow actor Tony Randall frequently at his side, images from these films are reconstructed and embellished with paint and other materials to imagine a more honest and hopeful narrative that is able to proudly Say Gay.
Painted assemblages, Brancusi inspired pillow constructions, installations and photo collage focusing on the wonder of love with a queer Wonka inspired perspective.
