But, with a release date of November 17th for the up-and-coming Persona 5 Tactica, it's time to start counting down the months till we can experience the latest in one of the most influential and beloved franchises of all time. Featuring a brand new storyline, as well as new friends and foes to sit alongside your all-time favorites, Persona 5 Tactica promises to be like nothing you've seen before. For die-hard fans of the franchise, don't let this worry you. The heart-filled, character-driven, thrilling combat at the core of the series certainly remains intact.
However, as the title implies, this new installment takes a bit of a different tack. That's to say, instead of the more classic RPG gameplay associated with previous games, Persona 5 Tactica tries its hand at the isometric, turn-based tactics genre. Intrigued? The Plot
Dazed and confused after a strange incident, the Phantom Thieves stumble into unknown territory. And it's far from friendly.
Surrounded by militarised Legionnaires, our heroes find themselves trapped in an oppressive realm ruled by an iron fist. That is until a mysterious revolutionary named Erina comes to the rescue.
Erina offers the Phantom Thieves a deal in exchange for their help. It sounds enticing. But are things quite as they seem? I'm not sure you'll have any choice but to find out. Just be careful!
The Dream Team
Adopting a more chibi-like aesthetic, Persona 5 Tactica features many of the fan favorites of the franchise, including the rebellious teenager Joker, the compassionate 'foreign' outcast Panther, and the cat-like creature Morgana, among others. This 'dream team' joins forces with Erina and her Rebel Corp as they embark on their mission to overthrow the forces of tyranny.
In true Persona fashion, new characters come with their own complex backstories and distinct personalities, further drawing you into the immersive storytelling and emotional engagement associated with the series. You'll definitely feel personally invested in this one.
Now, after this introduction of the 'dream team' you may be wondering: is Persona 5 Tactica multiplayer? The answer is no. Rather, like with other main games in the series, Persona 5 Tactica is single-player focused.
Gameplay
OK, so we know we have to defeat the dictator, including his/her minions on the ground, but how exactly do we go about doing that? How do you spark a revolution?
Be Strategic
Well, first things first, you need to be strategic. Indeed, any successful uprising requires careful planning and oversight. It's no surprise, therefore, that the battles in Persona 5 Tactica are far more tactical than the classic turn-based combat in Persona 5. They need to be. Your enemy is powerful and well-organized and you must stay one step ahead of the game if you want to survive. Let alone succeed.
For example, it is important to position your squad strategically around the battlefield, as you consider which of your protagonists should make what kind of attack, against which particular enemy, at what point, and using what mechanics.
Attack With Force
Of course, the Phantom Thieves can summon their respective Personas, and, as with Persona 5, they can also fuse Personas together to create new powers. Indeed, you will be given the option to either use a skill (Persona) or take aim with a gun. Flooring enemies further opens up the 'One More' action to double the damage.
An additional mechanic in Persona 5 Tactica is the 'Triple Threat' attack. This powerful onslaught can be used as an ultimate tool to finish off downed enemies, or at least to inflict major damage to those caught within the radius. For the 'Triple Threat' to work, however, you'll need to ensure that you have a minimum of at least three allies surrounding your wounded foes. Again, this takes us back to the importance of strategy and forethought in terms of positioning.
Diplomacy
Alternatively, instead of triggering an 'All-Out Attack', you may decide to opt to attempt to initiate 'Negotiation'. This can result in a pay-out (hey, revolutions cost money), or even in the recruitment of a new ally, which can be life-saving. The choice is yours!

Persona 5 Tactica is due to be released on November 17, 2023.

System Requirements
As is often the case this far in advance of the release date, Atlus hasn't yet revealed the system requirements necessary to play Persona 5 Tactica on PC.
In the past, the requirements for Persona games have been moderate rather than high, but with the inevitably advanced graphics, improved performance, and additional features, it will be important to check out what is needed to play the game smoothly.
For now, the only basics we know so far are the following:

Verdict
You know what you're getting with Persona spin-offs in terms of high-quality, immersive, character-driven, action-adventure entertainment. Indeed, it's pretty much guaranteed from this award-winning franchise, and there's no reason to believe Persona 5 Tactica will be any different.
For fans of tactics games, this latest installment of the critically-acclaimed series comes with extra excitement. Imagine being able to combine the thrill of summoning your Personas with XCOM-style strategic combat, as you attempt to overthrow a tyrannical dictator and spark a revolution. Well, there's no need for imagination. That is exactly what Persona 5 Tactica brings to the table.
I don't know about you, but I don't need much more convincing. In fact, I may just go ahead and clear my diary for November 17th and the proceeding few weeks. I think I'll be busy!
