Glen Lochen

Originally built in 1975, the Glen Lochen Mall, once a vibrant local institution, had faded to obscurity through years of neglect and increasing vacancy. The project entailed a comprehensive renovation plan for the building exterior, interior common spaces, and site landscaping. To address the disparate volumes and failing envelop of the existing building, the entire public façade of the building was stripped bare. A long, undulated zinc armature stretches across the whole of the façade providing a cohesive element for the new façade components. Additional glazing, new entry and stucco patterning were used to create a new identity for this 66,000 sf building. Inside, the lobby, common spaces and architectural stair were modernizes to offer open, social spaces and an updated environment for tenants and visitors.
