The 2-storey timber frame house with its silver fir shingle facade and gable roof is home to a family of 6 and offers thanks to a flexible room concept plenty of living and feel-good space for its big and small residents. The ground floor – with weather-protected access upon arrival and wide-opening nature access from the central living kitchen – is the heart of this refined family home. The split wood stove in cast iron black, matching the timelessly elegant kitchen, provides cozy warmth on cold winter evenings. The oak parquet flooring runs through the modern traditional living atmosphere to the spruce staircase which leads to the upper bedroom and study floor. A merging of the rooms in the upper floor spaces after the grown-up inhabitants have moved out has been planned, transforming the cozy family floor into a spacious working gallery with a living loft area. The core of the swift individual modular construction is insulated with ecological cellulose and wood fibers.

COMMOD HOUSE

COMMOD HOUSE develops, designs and builds modular houses made of wood. The modules are manufactured in the factory and erected in a few hours on the building site. The materials used consist mainly of wood, wood-based materials and recyclable products. The houses are individually planned and built in just three months. The modules can be placed on point foundations in the form of screw foundations. This means that the impact on nature is much less than with conventional building sites, and almost complete dismantling is possible in a resource-saving way.

We encourage designers and architects to share their best projects with the rest of the world so as to inspire the next generation and gain global recognition.
