Since Corona, recreation parks and campsites in the Netherlands have become even more popular than they already were. We Dutch like to book a holiday here with the children or a pleasant family weekend. Taking the whole family to the child-friendly recreation park De Leistert in Limburg is a great idea. Here you can book an overnight stay in various ways. If you like comfort and luxury, you can book a holiday in one of the beautiful modern bungalows in authentic Limburg farm style. If you’re going for the outdoors, the 5-star campsite with a huge range of facilities is probably your favourite.
How nice is it to take a break in the Fall or Spring. A great campsite must have many facilities and everyone will enjoy themselves at this versatile park in Limburg, in addition, the area is also very nice to explore for a day.
Recreation Park de Leistert
There is plenty to do for young and old at this cozy campsite with swimming pool. There is a lot to do for the children, both indoors and outdoors. Especially lots of water fun because that is of course indispensable for the children. There is a subtropical swimming paradise with a child-friendly rapids, slides, whirlpools, two large swimming pools and much more. For the hot summer days, the heated wave pool outside is great fun. There is also a water playground outside, a beautiful play area with a winding riverbed running through it. Here the children can discover the source of the stone river via rope bridges, stepping posts and boulders. In addition, for the hot days there is a swimming and rowing pond with beach, here again there are all kinds of play equipment for the children. Cross the pond with the pull raft.
In addition to all that water fun, there are playgrounds everywhere and there is an Indoor Play Jungle: La Selva Playground. Good to know is that the restaurant La Selva Food & Drinks is adjacent to this, so the children can climb and clamber while mom and dad enjoy a snack and drink. There is also a covered Plaza for an evening out in one of the two restaurants, after which you can have even more family fun while bowling.
Accomodations
Recreation park de Leistert is divided into two different parts, at Buitenhof de Leistert you will find bungalows and luxury holiday farms from 4 people. The largest accommodation is suitable for 12 people. At Camping de Leistert you can choose to stay overnight in a Cabin, Chalet, Lodge, Safari tent (4 persons) or a Glamping tent (5 persons).
Good to know; there are special fields on the campsite and special bungalows where you can also bring your dog.
The area
The hilly landscape in Limburg is of course beautiful. The park borders the forest where you can enjoy walking, if you prefer climbing and clambering, Fun Forest is recommended (30 minutes from the park). Do you like to visit a castle? There are plenty of those in the area, go back in time in Hoensbroek Castle (45 minutes from the park) or visit the oldest but also the most modern castle in our country, Kasteel de Keverberg, which is located right on the Maas (15 minutes from the park). If you prefer to go to an amusement park with your family, Toverland Amusement Park is only a 20-minute drive away, or cross the border and discover Movie Park Germany.
