Organisations are full dependant on cloud service provider. And as #Slack demonstrates you can no longer gurantee that your data remains private. The cloud is a business enabler, no doubt. But it also comes with significant pitfalls. #cloud #Ai #ML #Slack #DataPrivacy #DataSecurity #InformationSecurity #GDPR #PII #NDA

Do you use Slack at work? 💬 Do you know that your data is used to train their AI model? 🤖 Yes, per default Slack granted itself rights to use your Customer Data (e.g. messages, content and files) to train their AI/ML models. Exactly, your company data, your work and information is used for free, by a service you even pay for, to train their AI. 👀 Think about it. Do you talk about intellectual property? Do you share customer files that are under NDA? Maybe some PII or other sensitive regulated data? Even if you opt-out, the data will still be leveraged for training their AI: "If you opt out, Customer Data on your workspace will only be used to improve the experience on your own workspace and you will still enjoy all of the benefits of our globally trained AI/ML models without contributing to the underlying models." And the opt-out process? Glad you ask. Because one could think there is an easy way or process, like /opt-out Not really🙅♀️. You need to manually send an email for each and every workspace you own : "Contact us to opt out. If you want to exclude your Customer Data from Slack global models, you can opt out. To opt out, please have your org, workspace owners or primary owner contact our Customer Experience team at feedback@slack.com with your workspace/org URL and the subject line ‘Slack global model opt-out request’. We will process your request and respond once the opt-out has been completed." https://lnkd.in/emiJXnpG #Slack #AI #ML #ArtificialIntelligence #DataPrivacy #CyberSecurity #InformationSecurity #NDA #Legal #SupplyChain #Contract #Cloud
