Summary[edit]

Description

English: The pictorial schematic shows the plateau, the scarped ridge and special conditions of the slope of a side valley of the Swabian Alb, northwest of Bad Urach. As in many cases of the “Alb’s escarpment the karst springs emerge over impermeable rock layers, where the water eroded Klingen or V-shaped valleys with small or larger floodplains. In the Naturschutzgebiet “Rutschen” (Runder Berg and protection of the plateau and the scarped ridges along river ”Erms”) karst spring water sedimented two large calcareous tuff terraces, called “High Meadows”. Over these terraces’ scarped ridges “Uracher Wasserfall” and Gütersteiner Kalktuffnasen” shed their water.
