| Description |
Deutsch: Stark vereinfachter Schnitt durch die Erdkruste eines Teils eines Kontinentalblocks mit verschieden alten Grundgebirgskomplexen und deren sedimentärem Deckgebirge. Die Akkretion der jüngeren Kruste erfolgte von links. Der (komplizierte) interne Bau der Grundgebirgskomplexe ist nicht dargestellt. Zudem ist zu beachten, dass jüngere Orogene älteres Grundgebirge enthalten können. Bezogen auf Europa entspricht das kratonische Grundgebirge (rot) dem Baltischen Schild bzw. dem Basement der Osteuropäischen Plattform. Das paläozoische Grundgebirge (dunkelbraun) entspricht den kaledonisch und variszisch gefalteten Komplexen und das mesozoisch-känozoische Orogen (dunkelblau) entspricht den alpidischen Kettengebirgen (Pyrenäen, Alpen, Karpaten, etc.). Der Grundgebirgsaufbruch entspräche jungen Bruchschollengebirgen, wie z.B. dem Harz oder dem Schwarzwald. Die Entsprechung eines älteren Sedimentbeckens ist z.B. das Germanische Becken bzw. dessen Vorläufer, das Zechsteinbecken. Ein sehr junges Sedimentbecken mit geologisch jungem Grundgebirge ist das Wiener Becken. |
