English: Liquefied Gas Vapor Pressure Curves
Deutsch: Schar von Temperatur-Dampfdruck-Kurven verschiedener Substanzen: Verflüssigbare und flüssige Kohlenwasserstoffe von Methan bis Pentan, Stickstoff zum Vergleich.
A: Methan siedet normal bei 1 bar bei -160°C
B: Bei -100°C entwickelt es einen Dampfdruck von 25 bar.
C: Bei -170°C (etwa bei Kühlung durch Flüssigstickstoff) wird Methan bei 1 bar vollständig verflüssigt. Sein Dampfdruck beträgt nur etwa 1/5 des äußeren Luftdrucks, eine dichte Dose oder ein Beutel nur mit Methan gefüllt wird während der Verflüssigung vom äusseren Luftdruck fast vollständig zusammengedrückt.
Kritische Punkte.
Bei 0°C hat Propan mit 1,6 bar etwa den doppelten Dampfdruck von Butan. Aus einer Mischgaskartusche strömt im Winter vor allem Propan, solange sie nicht noch weiter abkühlt.
