Hold on and reflect, let thinking flow and use your feet if something doesn't convince after hearing the whole story but remain empathic. Always try!

Rachel Carson for her sensibility and understanding that starlings were essential to see a system change; Kelvy Bird for her creativity and visual intelligence as she can engage us to be part of a vision; Albert Einstein, as he is always focalizing on human and social existential points besides his scientific background; Peter Senge and Otto Scharmer, as they enabled me to see the whole elephant in a room; Permaculture movement as from the beginning up to now you meet optimistic and engaged people, my family as they are present in my life.

tenacity and optimism that things will go as they have to go

Pediatric Nephrologist and Nutritionist, trained in integrated medicine and systems thinking.

Research on permaculture and pesticides is part of my work, as well as one of my current personal interests. I've also extended my knowledge in the domains of education on sustainability and leadership through a professional summer course at MIT in 2014 and two follow-on courses with prof. Peter Senge from MIT (in 2014 and 2015). I have collaborated with in the public administration on a non-profit project run by OMS, "Healthy Cities" in 2015 in Genova. More generally, I try to implement concepts of sustainability in my daily work as a medical doctor, bridging ideas from environmental and social responsibility to the prevention of diseases and therapy. My goal is to further children's health through education and a systemic/integrated approach that is coherent with their social and natural environment. I believe that the hole health system and chronic disease could benefit from sustainable design, dialogue, and observation of natural patterns pointing to biodiversity and the importance of epigenetics.

to be present and connected, even in difficult situations

Nutrition and prevention of environmental risks, try to be connected with nature, to look forward, nevertheless. The Scholanova project “Learning Construction Site for the Environment and social agriculture” champions socio-cultural interests. The idea that an abandoned school built in 1948, can be revived to play a vital role in the Italian community as a center for education, socio-health, promoting sustainability, biodiversity, and regenerative creativity is fundamental. A big step forward for this project was the recent success of our public petition to recover this abandoned school building that had remained unused for a long time in the Conero Park. Restoring secondary historical heritage buildings offers an opportunity to preserve our socio-cultural roots and memories, and our link with the environment. Participation and awareness of local problems favor a better understanding of connection with global climate change and other social issues. This initiative relies on the contributions of time and the engagement of ordinary citizens. We hope that through collective action, we can transform this historic building into a multipurpose center that connects the community and its members and helps to explore local traditions and "roots." Scholanova will support the protection of nature by fostering cohesiveness between urban and rural areas, educating and exploring ideas for future visions of sustainability, and offering a chance to integrate life in the metropolitan city with the Conero Park. The Scholanova project will recover and transform a neglected space into a vibrant, inclusive one where new ideas can be developed and come into fruition.
