Summary

Description
English: The kinetid is an elementary organellar complex (circled on the diagram) typical of the ciliate cortex, consisting of at least one kinetosome and its fibrillar associates, including the cilium. Several kinetids arranged into a file constitute a kinety. In the oral region, the polykinetid displays at least three kinetosomes. Drawn after Blepharisma (Lynn, Denis H. , ed. (in English) (2010) The Ciliated Protozoa (3rd ed.), Dordrecht: Springer Netherlands, p. 130 DOI: 10.1007/978-1-4020-8239-9. ISBN: 978-1-4020-8238-2. ).
