Question about German
What is the difference between einsehen and erkennen ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.
What is the difference between einsehen and erkennen ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.
I have understood that einsehen is to realize sth like a solution to an equation but it's not the case for erkennen, it means to realize in another sense that I haven't quite grasped from Duden. Please help.

"einsehen" is mostly used to express "a person thought otherwise, but has come to the realisation that he/she was wrong" or that "a person came to understand why something/someone behaves/acted a certain way"
It's commonly used with a persons conduct, mistakes, behaviour (whether it is good/bad/(in)appropriate/......) and also always contains the idea of changing ones opinion or view.
"erkennen" is more or less the generic translation of "realise" as well as "recognise" (person, place, something/someone one knows)
I would not use "einsehen" when you refer to the solution of an equation, unless you literally want to express that a person thought their solution was correct, and came to realise that it in fact is not.

@Halala That was brilliant! what is the alternative of einsehen in other way around (e.g. their solution was wrong then they realized the right answer)?

"e.g. their solution was wrong then they realized the right answer"
You could use "einsehen" in this case, because "you were wrong" --> "you realised it and now think differently"
The only reason why I said it's not really appropriate to use it with things that could actually be considered as being "right/wrong" is that you would mostly use "verstehen/understand" in such a case. "einsehen" refers to the way a singular person thinks, other people might still think differently.
Er hat eingesehen, dass seine Frau nur so handeln konnte
(He realised that his wife could only act like she did) (other people might still disagree given they were in a similar situation)
Ich habe eingesehen/verstanden, dass meine Lösung falsch ist (I realised/understood that my solution is wrong)
While "einsehen" implies something like "a change of heart", "verstehen" simply means "to understand".
(not sure whether that's what you were asking though)
