Generell bezeichnet man damit die Tendenz einer Abweichung nach links.
In Ballsportarten bezeichnet man damit insbesondere die nach links abweichende Flugkurve des Balls, die durch das "Anschneiden" (Mitgeben einer Eigenrotation) des Balls verursacht wird. Man sagt: Der Ball hat einen Linksdrall.
Spaßhaft sagt man das zu Personen, die versehentlich (oder aus Trunkenheit) nicht ganz geradeaus laufen sondern nach links abweichen: Du hast einen Linksdrall.
