Zusammenfassung

Mit einer Prävalenz von 5–8 Herzfehlern bei 1000 Lebendgeborenen gehören die angeborenen Herzfehler zu den wichtigsten Fehlbildungen des Menschen, die nach wie vor eine hohe Morbidität und Mortalität aufweisen (Ferencz et al. 1993). Mit besserer postnataler Diagnostik ist die Inzidenz sogar höher, denn in einer neuen in Deutschland durchgeführten Studie (Lindinger et al. 2010) wurde eine Prävalenz von 10 Herzfehlern bei 1000 Lebendgeborenen gefunden.
