After a session at the gym, I was fairly hungry and a protein shake wasn't going to do it. So decided to look up a few places and while driving, I saw this at the corner and this place had been on my bookmarks for a while and decided to give this a go instead.

Since it's downtown and midday parking is horrendous, but since they're located near an alley, homegirl parked on the red and came in to do a to go order.

Walked up to a kiosk and ordered 2 chicken shawarma, one with hummus and the other with mixed greens. ( Summer is coming around the corner, so gotta make sure we're staying within the macros.)

I really did enjoy my plate, the wrap was packed with protein which I enjoyed. Usually a lot of places are skimpy with their protein portions, but the chicken was tender and full of flavor. It was also very refreshing as there was tabuleh and pickles.

I like the little banana peppers addition to the salad, I just ate them with the shawarma instead. The hot sauce is creamy, pretty mild, but got the job done.

Would you guys make a halal hot sauce? Just asking because some people like me would like our insides to burn. Lol.

Would be coming back just to try their plate .

Anwar's Kitchen is cooking up some of the best Halal Mediterranean food I've had in dtla. This restaurant was opened by social media influencer Anwar and his mother and is open everyday until 4AM! The portions are generous and the gyro and shawarma are very flavorful

The restaurant itself is a good size with lots of tables. It has modern decor with really nice lights. The mural of Anwar is hilarious too lol I came in around 12pm and there was no wait. Shoutout to Antoni for helping us out and answering all my questions

The portions were big and the food was so flavorful. I tried the gyro pita and the meats and sauces were so generous. I split the Anwar special and there's not much else to say other than that it was indeed special.

Located near Santee Alley in DTLA. Street parking only. Lots of indoor seating tho. They have a self-order kiosk, and normally only 1 person running everything out on the floor. So there's rarely someone there to greet you as you walk in. It's mostly self-service most of the time. Food comes out quick. And they are open super late. Like 4am, so that's very handy. Lots of to-go order pick ups. Food is tasty and good portions. The watermelon Fresca was delicious.

I got the rice plate which was not that good, but I had a taste of my friends' wrap and baklava which both were 7/10. Not sure why the plate was bad, but because it was the pita bread and the meat, you could taste the meat being not as good. Wrap had everything in it and so when combining the different textures and flavors, it's pretty good though.

They skimp out on the amount of pita you get on the rice plate too which sucks, but I think that's why they give you a sufficient amount of rice.

Barely 3/5 for me, but the service was nice :)

It's good for a late night spot when you're super hungry and nothing else is open, but I felt like it lacked a lot of flavor especially the chicken. The beef I thought was a little bit better and definitely made up for the lack of flavor overall in everything else I guess, so small wins.

One of the few Halal spot that is open late night in LA. Food quality and portion is very good. Late night go to spot definitely.

I've ordered here a few times and they've never disappointed! They don't skimp on the sauce and extras, and the size and portion are great. My go-to has been the chicken and beef plate with the hummus and pita bread. Providing a wholesome and nutritious meal, it is a perfect choice as a complete meal. In one instance, I selected the incorrect toppings and they immediately corrected the error and re-sent me a replacement order. Ask anyone and they will tell you that this is impeccable customer service!!
