So very sorry to read such poor reviews but these were from years ago. This facility is now owned by St Luke's.
I was very nervous about having to go through a pretty serious test, so much so, that I was in tears. My nurse, Kathy, was comforting and reassuring as was the Dr that day, Dr Bassik. He explained the procedure and easily answered my questions. Nurse Kathy assured me they would take great care of me and they did. Any fears or anxiety I have/had are not due to this excellent medical facilities or their professionals.
I met Nurse John (who initially scheduled me) he was with me in the room at the time and made me feel at ease. I appreciated how both the doctor and Nurse John told me what was going to happen prior to it happening and when to be ready for pressure. They also prepared me for things I might be feeling. That definitely helped me with my anxiety.
Some of my results were ready mere hours later, but I'm just too scared to look.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Woot M.San Francisco, CA276129164Mar 26, 2011First to Review
Cafeteria serves liver and onions as your main choice? Worst cafeteria ever!
Send back what you don't like, you might get some frozen (as in still frozen) string beans with sloppy joe made with ketchup. Things that are supposed to be cold are warm, and warm are frozen. I love the nutritionist as well, "Is everything to your liking?" Uh, liking? I'm not even sure half of this is edible!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Wally B.Jim Thorpe, PA021May 27, 2015
BAD Experience! DO NOT GO!
Make the drive to Lehigh Valley. The life of you or your loved one would be in great danger if you went to this poor excuse for a hospital. I have heard the stories and I guess that they are true. The staff is not helpful at all (acknowledgment and a little communication would be nice, a smile would not hurt as well) The waiting area and restroom are disgusting, We waited waited 3 hours to have a doctor look at a head injury. Which we never got waited on and left. YES, WE LEFT. I guess the 3 different people with police escorts,(handcuffed) to get DUI tested were more important then little boy with a head injury.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stacey S.Jim Thorpe, PA03Oct 8, 2014
Horrible place! My grandmother was transferred to the acute rehab center there and they made things worse.... A PT and OT tried lifting her themselves, causing more damage to her back. She urinated herself one day and the nurses ignored her for hours!! The doctor is incompetent and didn't want to do the tests to find out why she was swollen ( only to find out at Lehigh valley hospital that she has blood clots). They refused to transfer her records to lvh claiming that they lost them. The social worker is terrible and hung up on my mom twice and walked out in the middle of a conversation with my aunt. Do not go here for anything!!! Horrible place!!

Would not recommend anyone to go there! The emergency room Dr. Mark Goldstein was horrible! very rude and unprofessional with in 5 minutes of being there he had already diagnosed my boyfriend with fluid in his lungs then said it was heart failure then it was only a COPD flare up! They kept him for 5 days because his BP was high due to them not giving him the correct BP medicine, then preceded to up his doasge! We usually deal with Lehigh Valley Health Networks but had to get him to a hospital in a rush so we chose a 3 minute drive as compared to 45 minutes. The nurses were every kind the CNA's not so much! He went hours with out them coming in to see if he needed anything, they couldn't even as much as bring him a fresh cup of water! When you would ring the bell for them it was almost as if you were bothering them and I'm sorry but with 3 nurses and 3 CNA's on when you only have 15 to 20 patients on that floor you should be getting a little bit more acknowledgement when you need something! Not once did I see any of them use gloves which is also disgusting! The problem I really had was when he asked the nurse if they had somewhere to shower and her response was "yes we do but you need a special doctors order to shower." Are you kidding me?! A doctors order is needed to take a shower that is absolutely ridiculous and disgusting and then they wonder how people get hospital acquired infections! I will never go any where but LVHN for now on! As an Healthcare worker myself I would be ashamed to give that type of treatment to people who are in need of medical attention!
