Nice little dive bar under new management . Nice young couple. Great bartenders lots of nice locals. Pool tables and big screen TV. This place has been here for forever. Has lots of history. Drinks are cheap and atmosphere is nice. Great little dive bar.

La Sabré is a classic dive bar. Pool tables, bar decor, friendly people, and cheap drinks. If your looking for a local dive bar to grab a drink or play some pool this is a great spot. They don't have food so don't plan on eating there.

This is a little dive bar that I sometimes attend to sing karaoke. It's small. Lots of locals here. There's two
Pool tables in the center of the place that always command attention from the local pool sharks. They serve just a little food (bar food--hot dogs, hot pockets, mini pizza, egg rolls and various other heartburn specialities) and of course, a bar with the usual Utah assortment of measured pours! The karaoke is what I come here for and Friday nights, 9 to close, is the time to come and belt out your songs! Enjoy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 309125128083Apr 24, 2017
I need to be clear right away: this is a terrible dive bar.
But sometimes, within the realm of terrible-ness, something magical is born. Sometimes out of pure awful, pure awesome emerges. And in the oldest of old dive bars, in the oddest of divey dive spots, this dive is pure dive bar amazing.
There were but a few reviews and a couple of photos when I first caught sight of the Yelp listing. A bar? In downtown (such as it is) American Fork? Are you kidding me? It was a beacon of lawlessness and loose living in an otherwise tightlaced community. We had to go.
A group of us swarmed the place an completely overtook the locals/regulars. You had all the usual suspects: loud pool table lady, chill friendly dude, creepy staring guy at the bar, hipsters ironically enjoying the place, and small group of friends nursing a beer out of necessity and proximity. The bartender checked IDs and we were off to the races.
The decor is best described as hodgepodge with a hint of western. The bar has wagon wheel lights, the tables are smooth finished tree trunk pieces (don't put your drink down without a coaster or it will slide off) and there's a big pool table in the middle. There's a modern jukebox (not the kind that actually spins records, but the kind on the wall that you order songs with points you purchase) and the selection is amazing. Within 10 minutes I heard N'SYNC and the Barney theme song. No, I'm not kidding.
When it comes to the giggly juice, you're on your own. I don't drink, but saw that they have a surprising amount of local beers in bottles (note: more than one kind is surprising in a dive bar, so, you know, don't expect serious craft brews) and it's more a beer bar than anything. Stick to well drinks or shots, they're not going to mix you anything. The loud and super friendly regular was not actually named Patty, but that's what the bartender called her because she drank so much peppermint schnapps. So, that's the level of drinking.
She's not much from the outside. I guess the other side of the block has a more proper entrance, but we rolled up to a massive wall, with one tiny prison-looking door, and it was dark, and we just went for it. Apparently the owner lives above the bar and owns the building, but he has nothing to do with the place, except his (or perhaps his father's) painted portrait hangs at the bar as a requirement. His last name is Beveridge. You can't make up that kind of amazing legacy.
We swarmed, we took over, we laughed, some played (free) pool, we tipped the laid back bartender for his time and tolerance, and honestly, it was one of the most memorable dive bar nights in recent history. I feel the responsibility to once again emphasize that it's perfect for what it is, but it's perfectly, terribly, awfully, wonderfully, divey.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Tony L.Sandy, UT80113286594Sep 12, 2017
I do not visit dive bar often, but I thought this place was not too bad. I guess the people you are with makes a huge different when coming to places like these. Parking is on the street. First we got some drinks from the chill laid back bartender who gave us funny looks at first, then we seat at the tables with some out of maintenance stools.
Some of us chilled at the tables, other played pools, and some just enjoy watching loud patrons yelling at each other. I sat back and listen to classic music from the 90s... yeah that's what they call it nowadays. I remembered to take a video in case the alcohol taken over the memories. Music was not too loud here, but the chatters made up for the difference.
Anyway... LaSabre is one of those places that I probably would not come here by myself, not even with 1 or 2 friends... at least 3-5.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Alex S.Orem, UT401466611Mar 9, 2017
I am going to make this quick because... I am too scared to give it any lower of a score than I am giving it.
What can I get you? An old fashioned. What's in that? And that explains my experience there.
The people we went with were fun, and I enjoyed the aspect. But if the company you are with makes a place... how much do you really need the place? The place could be anywhere.
THE VERDICT: Despite the bartender not knowing exactly what he was doing, he was an awesome nice guy. And you had the two creepy regulars that every bar need, that oodle the girls that don't seem like they belong in that type of bar. Thankfully we were rolling deep so there was no shady action. Try it out once... I would probably only ever go back if paid to... or the right crew was going. My God have mercy on my soul. And please don't kill me.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - erick g.Salt Lake City, UT17675214Jan 28, 2020

Super dive bar but there really is nothing else out there. I love dive bars and when the bartender is super chill it makes it better. I love all the old stuff and pool tables. I will come back. Super cool place.
