So we've eaten at many restaurants over the years. And I'm honestly saying, this was one of the best if not the best restaurant we've ever eaten at.

We're staying at a nearby hotel, the Viceroy, where the waitress and several patrons recommended Pappe. They were adamant that Pappe was their favorite restaurant in DC. No question. What could we do but try Pappe.


We were hesitant only because we weren't in the mood for Indian cuisine. We've eaten at several Indian restaurants over the years. All very good.

They don't compare to Pappe. Not close!!

For starters, the hostess (Alison) greeted us as we walked in and could not have been nicer! We didn't have a reservation but she treated us so nicely.

We then got a great table and our waiter Sammy introduced himself. This gentleman was the nicest guy we've ever had as a waiter. So knowledgeable, understanding of our likes and dislikes, just super super nice!! Unbelievable!!

He then gave us some recommendations which we went with. WOW!! So delicious!!!

We ordered drinks, appetizers, the nan and chutney flight and the main meal!! SO DELICIOUS!!! Crazy delicious!!

And the service was second to none!! They replaced our dishes twice to ensure we had clean plates, Sammy consistently checked on us, made sure we were happy, ....

I'm not kidding if I say this was one of the best, if not the best, dining experience we've had in DC!!

I cannot figure out how Pappe doesn't get a 5 out of 5!! I would give them a 10/5 if I could!!

Big mistake of you miss Pappe!! Sorry, my wife and I truly feel it's one of if not the best restaurants in DC!!

Delicious Indian food! The space is beautifully decorated, the service is fantastic and the food is so good. The staff is passionate about all their food, and for good reason.

I loved the apps and Chai Espresso Martini, buy you can't go wrong.

Lamb Samosa - Never had a lamb samosa, but it was was good! The favors are unreal
Aloo Papadi Chaat - great flavors and textures. I could eat this one all day long
Chai Espresso Martini - As tasty as it is pretty
Chicken Tikka Masala - You can never go wrong with chicken tikka. The curry is hearty and delicious
Naan and Chutney Flight - a fun way to sample a ton of chutney and naan!
Lamb Taar Gosht - A flavor blast! A unique and delicious curry if you're looking to branch out from the classics.
Tellicherry Lamb Chops - perfectly cooked lamb chops
Desserts - Loved their take on classic desserts

Got the "thumbs up" soda, and while that tasted like coke and sweaty thumbs, it's a great summary of my review. 2 thumbs way up. Chicken tika masala and garlic naan were delicious.
We sat by the window and had a nice breeze that carried the scent of our food to everyone walking on the street. Saw several people smell it and decide to come in for a bite.
Great food and great service. Absolutely check it out.

We came here on a Thursday night and despite it being a small restaurant we were able to get a booth. All the staff was really friendly and made sure to know about any allergies. We got the nann bread basket and I got the chicken tikka masala. The nann we got were onion, green chili, and butter. The onion was probably the best out of those. The tikka masala was good and also tried the lamb vindaloo and butter chicken. My favorite out of all was the butter chicken. With each dish was a couple of pieces of meat and a bowl of rice. I thought all the food was great but definitely on the pricier side for the amount of food you get.

Pappe - aka 'brother' is cool Indian restaurant great for date night or even a small group dinner. The interior design is beautiful fusing Indian fabrics and colors all within an open concept seating arrangement. We were a group of 6 that were able to fit into booth seating. They also have a small bar with seats. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered the naans & chutney flights, grilled paneer achari, and dal makhani with rice. Hearty and not too spicy. Just right! Also, good house wine and decent price point for dinner.

Pappe is a delicious, authentic Indian restaurant in Logan Circle that is packed with flavor in each bite.

The restaurant is clean, trendy, and has a great mix of Bollywood/Punjabi hits always playing in the background :) I adored the dim lighting and lively atmosphere.

I went for Happy Hour and loved each dish I had. My absolute favorites were the Spicy Chicken Tikka (a spicy food lover's dream!) and Vegetable Samosa. The Onion Bhajia and Prawn Koliwala were tasty and milder, which made them a good balance between each item.

The Cardamom Gimlet and Sanjay's Old Fashioned had a unique Indian twist on classic cocktails. Both paired exceptionally well with the spices in each of the dishes.

The service was speedy, accommodating, and friendly. Appreciated meeting the owner and learning more about the establishment.

Pappe is a phenomenal Indian restaurant and I am excited for my next visit! If you are in the neighborhood, it is definitely worth the visit.

Been wanting to try this unassuming spot for a long time! Finally grabbed some lunch here and it did not disappoint!

Food here is authentic, and the menu is friendly to dietary restrictions, labeling those which are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.

I also love the vibe inside. It's relatively small, so I'd recommend for an intimate date night. The decor is cozy and cultural, it really made me feel like I was tucked away.

I didn't get to take pictures of everything I tried, but service was friendly and quick, the food was tasty and authentic, and the vibes were really cool - not what you expect on the loud and busy 14th street!!

My absolute favorite Indian restaurant in DC. The service is always great. The flavors are amazing and the selection is very vast. If you are a whiskey lover the options are immense. The space is very intimate so make sure you make a reservation.

I was looking for some really good Indian food while on a quick trip to DC and Pappe exceeded all expectations during my quick trip to the city. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff ensuring a delightful dining experience. The ambiance was cool and inviting, setting the perfect mood for a memorable meal. Now, onto the food - the butter chicken stole the show with its rich and flavorful sauce, perfectly paired with warm, fluffy naan bread. I highly recommend Pappe for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Indian cuisine with a side of top-notch service.

Super lucky to have been able to visit here during both happy hour and restaurant week.

Happy hour- French 75! Omg! I loved this cocktail. Refreshing and well balanced. For only $6- you can't beat it.

Dinner- Restaurant Week menu (tons of choices). Here's what I ordered:
App: Crab Pav- a little Indian crab cake sandwich! Soft and flaky.
Entree: Shrimp Malabar- shrimp in a coconut and curry sauce. Lots of shrimp way more than expected. I ate this like a soup (without rice) and it was very filling. Not too spicy (hot), but still tons of flavor and a mild/medium heat.
Sides: Palak Paneer and Yellow Dal- both good, but I was already stuffed off the previous two items. I ate these with rice. Did not order naan (glad I didn't because that would've been way too much food).
Dessert: Saffron Kheer (rice pudding). Not too much saffron flavor, but not bad.

Overall, I highly recommend this place!
