Quick. Easy. Delicious.
Ran in twice while on a work trip. The big blue door at the entrance was so cool. Laid back vibe, good Indian food. Great price.
Can't wait to go back to DC and grab RASA again.

We checked out Rasa for the first time for a quick, casual dinner after a comedy show in Navy Yard.
I love Cava / fast casual bowls and Indian food, so I was excited for Rasa!
The flavors were delicious. I made my own bowl, but I think next time I would try one of their curated creations. The samosa chaat was underwhelming unfortunately! I loooove samosas so I was looking forward to that side dish - but the samosas were super dry.
The ambiance inside the restaurant is super cute and cozy.
I will be visiting the downtown location for lunch soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Good concept. Fast, affordable Indian food with plenty of options. I thought it tasted good but my one complaint is the tikka chicken was small, dried out chunks.

Always enjoy the food at rasa. I came by around 8 pm to pickup some dinner. I thought about ordering ahead of time on the app (and in retrospect, I really wish I had), but I figured they wouldn't be too busy on a Tuesday so I just took a chance. I ordered the new Tandoori Paneer Bowl (tandoori paneer | tomato garlic sauce | lemon turmeric rice | sautéed spinach | cucumber cubes | cilantro | tamarind ginger | mint cilantro | chickpea noodles). I also got a side order of garlic naan. They were out of the tomato garlic sauce so they asked if I wanted an alternate sauce or if I would wait a few minutes for the tomato sauce and I opted to wait for the sauce. The staff member told me to have a seat and he'd bring my food out to me. About 5 minutes later he brought me my bag of food and I hopped on the metro and headed across town to head home to dig in. When I got home I realized the naan wasn't in the bag which was a huge bummer. Definitely my fault for not checking before I left, but also the restaurant was mostly empty while I was there and it felt like a basic thing to forget. I called to ask if they could refund me the cost of the naan and they seemed confused and after having me on hold for about 5-10 minutes they said they had processed the refund but I just checked my CC and they never actually did so that was a bummer! Definitely double check your back before you leave

Sydney - thank you for taking the time to leave a review. While I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your bowl and are a loyal RASA fan, we deeply regret that the team missed the naan with your order. I've shared your review with our team so we can work to improve, as order accuracy is of the upmost importance to us. Additionally, it takes 3-5 days for a refund to show up in your account. I'd love to check in on the refund for you to make sure that it is in process - would you mind sending a note to namaste@rasa.co with the last 4 digits of your CC so I can follow up?

Best,
RASAAug 9, 2023Previous reviewThis restaurants reminds me of a chipotle, but Indian style. This Indian St., Food restaurant is now my favorite Fast casual restaurant in the District.
Reminiscent of a chipotle where you get to choose your base i.e. salad, noodles greens then you get to pick your meat or vegetables then the last part are the toppings like they've got salsa corn and other fresh veggies to choose from.
As for the picture, you can see, I chose chicken tikka with noodles and greens and a host of veggies i.e. corn, and other veggies.
They even have a rewards program where you get five dollars off your first meal. This is also part of a rewards program. I belong to with T mobile so it helps me get discounts on my bill.
The restaurant itself has a lovely interior as well as an outside alfresco dining experience.
It's close to the metro and the stadium and they also have locations around the DMV. - Jasmine A.Washington, DC170142Apr 19, 2024
Indian food has never let me down. I visit this location this evening, the parking was terrible due to a baseball game (which i was unaware of). The Tikkia Marsala chicken was amazing. It was a cute little restaurant in the heart of navy yard. The service was subpar seeing as though they were changing out their chairs.

I ordered Rasa for delivery while in my hotel in DC and I was so glad to have tried it! Really fresh flavors, good portions, and a good price.
I ordered a Greens+ Grains bowl. You can build your own bowl. I ordered mine with tofu, cauliflower, rice, greens, chickpeas, tomato, avocado + chutneys. Also ordered garlic naan, samosa chaat, and masala chai cookies.
The food was really delicious! Great flavors. Only downfall was I didn't get any tofu despite ordering some in the bowl and the chai cookies weren't very the best/fresh. The naan was yummy though and complimented all the flavors in the bowl well.
Definitely a great option for delivery or to even dine in as it looked like a nice spot!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 6492148Sep 19, 2023
I've been to RASA several times, and let me tell you, the food is a standout. This fast-casual spot in Navy Yard lets you customize your own Indian-inspired bowls with an array of tasty bases, proteins, and toppings. The culinary experience here is nothing short of unique and flavorful. If you're looking to delve into Indian cuisine in an approachable way, this is your place.
That said, the customer service has been inconsistent. I've had visits where the service was attentive and friendly, and others where it left much to be desired.
One more thing to note: the last four times I visited, I was bitten by mosquitoes. It seems they like to keep the windows open, which adds to the ambiance but not so much to comfort in this regard. While this hasn't stopped me from enjoying their food, it has led me to opt for takeout instead.
All in all, the food is fantastic, but there are a couple of areas that could use some improvement. I'll definitely continue to order from here; I'll just be enjoying it from the comfort of my own home.... For now.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I have never been to a beach party in Goa, but I would love to go someday. I imagine that visiting Rasa gives a little bit of what that might be like, in the best possible way. One of their menu items mentions Goa and I have been thinking of it ever since.
Service was smiling, warm, friendly, attentive and casual. I felt like I could ask anything that I needed to as a novice with Indian cuisine. We ordered the lamb bowl. It was a large amount of food/a good value... rich with complex layers of flavor. I finished mine before I could take a photo. Oops!
The desserts were two varieties of "creamy crack" in that they were good enough to become addictive. I ate both and left The Date to fend for himself. :#)
I'm sorry to post photos of empty dishes but the food was gone by the time that I gathered my wits. I'm sure to be back very soon and will try to get a photo.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 5, 2023
Great spot for lunch! Ordered to-go online using their rewards program for $5 off and my food was ready in 10 minutes. I got the Tikka Chance on Me, it was so good! Their portions are giant and worth two meals. The flavors were fresh, flavorful, and very well cooked. 10/10 on their interior design as well.
