THE BIG: Located in the Albert Cuyp market, this stroopwafel food truck has the best stroopwafels at an affordable price!
THE BLACK AND WHITE: There is always a line for this stroopwafel and with good intention! Simplicity is king and they focus on fresh stroopwafel: original and chocolate.
They make it fresh in front of you and the cashier is hilarious! Taste wise, it's better hot and the caramel is nice and gooey.
THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall an original stroopwafel was only 2.50 euro! Best deal in town by a longshot as other stroopwafel places charge 7+ euroHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 122620593872Mar 2, 2024
I regret getting a stroopwafel from anywhere else. Rudi's is the best and comes at the best price as well!
Rudi's is located in the Albert Cuyp Market. Follow the smell and the line! The line moves very quickly though. They make the stroopwafel fresh right in front of you, so you know you're getting something delicious! You can get a plain stroop or one with chocolate slathered on. Grab a few tins to go to take home some stroops for your loved ones at home (if they make it that far!)Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 2472426919Mar 1, 2024
This was by far my favorite fresh Stroopwafels. We sampled a grand total of three bakeries during our trip to Amsterdam. There is something addicting about the texture and taste of Rudi's. Also this is a family run business offering a personal touch to to your experience. Great prices too. Cash or credit is accepted. Because the prices were dramatically lower than you'd find in Central, I purchased a 3-pack as gifts and one fresh original for myself to enjoy.
The trailer is located within a farmers market setting. They have line ropes set up, because this place is worth the hype. Our luck was we went during the off season on a weekday, we didn't have to wait too long. The sad thing is, after sampling other places I kept wishing we had more time to go back so I could order the chocolate fresh stroopwafel to compare the original. To those of you going, go there as much as you can!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 2, 2023
When in Amsterdam, one must get stroopwafels --but not just any stroopwafel, get the original handmade ones at Rudi's. It's the most simple and perfect thing you can have.
We arrived early on a Saturday morning, but they don't open until 11am. We waited to be the first customer as a line was quickly forming. There's only two options: original or chocolate as I went for the original (€2.50) and picked up some souvenir ones in a cute tin to bring home. You can watch them make your stroopwafel as soon as you order it --super hot and fresh. The caramel filling in the middle wasn't too sweet either, which was a pleasant surprise. I could have so many of these, but we had to save our stomachs for more food later.
There are many other stroopwafel spots, but THIS is the one you need to get. Best stroopwafel ever!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Nov 10, 2023
Had to try fresh stroopwafels on my first visit to Amsterdam, so I opted to stop by Rudi's Original Stroopwafels during my visit to Albert Cuyp Market.
There was a wait as it is quite popular. But, the line went fast though. The employees are super efficient in what they do. They are quick to take orders and have the stroopwafels made in little to no time. The employees are very friendly and crack jokes. One even kindly took the time to pose for a photo as he saw me taking a photo of it being handed to me.
As for the stroopwafels itself, it's big. Probably bigger than the size of my hand. They do sell smaller ones in packaging to take home, but the ones they make fresh are certainly bigger in size. My friend and I were full from our brunch, so we opted to share one.
There is truly nothing like eating it fresh/on the spot! It came out warm, the caramel sauce spilled from the sides with each bite. It wasn't too sweet. That first impression was memorable.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 2 - Apr 9, 2024
Friendly service- its like a fresh thin waffle cone with chewy texture and caramel in the middle- its good and I can cross it off my must try in Amsterdam list now - I am not a huge fan though but feel really food about finding the Original !

Ordered:
Original Stroopwafel (~€3)
Aya's take:
My first day in Amsterdam would certainly not be complete if I didn't have a stroopwafel! I had Rudi's on my list and when I was walking through this market and saw the line, I immediately joined. The Stroopwafel is freshly baked and made right in front of you which adds to the experience. The delicious caramel filling was warm, rich, and gooey. It got a bit messy but it was so good that it was gone within minutes. Definitely worth trying!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
