A wonderful Christmas Market organized by the Victoria Church of Swedish and Scandanavian Christians, living in Berlin.
The Christmas Market finds it opening on the first Advent of the year from Saturday and Sunday, it is located in the Churches environment, Landhausstr. 26, Berlin- Wilmersdorf.
First of all, it is always a pleasure to be around Swedish and Scandanavian people, its just another more calming way of being than it is known from the German behaviour.
This market doesn t only give you introduction to Christmas in Sweden, it is also a good way to easily understand all about nevertheless- some about, why children have so much power and word in swedish kulture (ooo nooo, not what you think, they are not the kids to tell their parents what to do, okay for the german sense, Pippi Langstrump cannot be far way, but you can FEEL the inside and outgoing of the Bienenstock, the caring of the parents in a good care way of sense on the other hand the let go and do your own thing today imagination. And it is seemingly always a respectful and tolerant communication between kid and parent/adult. After these days I am impressed again and again and very ashamed of not having found my forever way to Sweden. So, these two days help me a lot to return to my adventures I was able to make as a kid in SwedenSummer. (Why I missed it this year ?? o no.)
You will be impressed by this market! You will get Swedish natural products en masse to a tolarate price, swedish nitting, swedish clothes, swedish Christmas decorating, self made, candles, cookies, cake, Pippi Langstrump and Bullerbü images, books and more and more. The kids help to sell and everybody is busy.
In the Cafe/Mensa of the Church you can relax with a nice coffee or tea and cinnamanrolls eg.

AND THEN.!!! Yesnow ..after experiencing THIS you will know what I mean, if you have a sense of any kind of romantic, you will just LOVE this!! Lucia is coming!! No, not aloneshe comes with all the liitle and bigger angels..they create their lightparade which is just so impressive and their singing is so beautiful and tremendous! This is Lucias practice dayssome time later she will have her performance and concert in a huge churchbefore Christmas! And you will get cards to come and see it! It got so popular over the xears in Berlin that they had to move their performance to a big church. Last year it was in the Berliner Dome. This year again in the german Gemeinde Wilhelmsaue (Wilmersdorf), December 11, if you are interested in getting cards/tickets you should call the swedish Försämmling Victoria church: ) , there might be some cards left. To go to the concert and to get a ticket there on that evening is very great luck, because it is so crowded there and sooo many people would just Love to get another card.
So, if you have a hard time, to remember what Christmas can be all about, then come and enjoy! You will learn!
(on regular life the Viktoria Gemeinde invites you always to be a part of their church, as a guest, or even more. the Gemeinde is compareable to presbyterian or german Evangelisch- lutherische Konfession. During EM and WM Soccertimes their church grows to an arena, as soon as Sweden has its playtime and you are invited to take part.)
