This place was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad I came here! I booked a massage for my sister and I because if you don't, it's first time first served and there isn't a guarantee that you'll get in if they happen to be busy. I got the exfoliating massage and really enjoyed it!

This spa is coed and similar to other spas I've been to, except fancier. There were plenty of changing rooms, lockers, showers, and a room filled with mirrors and hairdryers.

If you are getting a massage, they ask that you arrive 2 hours beforehand to do the Roman-Irish spa ritual. Compared to other spas I've been to, the temperatures were comfortable and weren't overly hot or cold in any of the saunas or pools. Some things that were unique compared to other spas I've been to were that exfoliating and laying down on a warm stone were steps in the spa ritual. The spa ritual ends with lounge rooms where you can take a nap, read a book, and drink water and tea.

In addition to the Roman-Irish spa ritual there is also a roof top infinity pool with great views of Zürich and a Thermal Bath. My favorite thing was the rain shower in the Thermal Bath because I've never experienced anything like it. You step in this shower and there are 3 shower heads that turn on in sequence with lights and sounds of rain and thunder, alternating cold and hot.

I loved my experience! The reviews were confusing to me, so here is some information that may help others.

There are a few different experiences.

The rooftop pool is hot and has gorgeous views. Highly recommend and would probably appeal to most.

The Roman-Irish baths was a really unique experience for me (a visitor from the US- I've never been to anything like it). I loved the underground charm and the relaxation as I went through the sauna, pools, lay on the warm stones, etc. Check out the pictures on the website- it may not appeal to everyone, but I loved it.

I also got a massage, and while I thought it was fantastic, there is once caveat (especially for US women). There was significantly less privacy/more exposure. For example, when I was face up, there was only a folded towel on my crotch and my breasts were exposed. Rooms aren't private, so this could be unnerving for some. I had a fabulous massage and no one else was in my room, but the massage was far more exposed than I expected. So if you are body shy, maybe just stick with the pool/baths where everyone is in swim suits!

So incredibly relaxing. I usually am very critical of spas as they don't really relax me usually. But this one is truly special. It really sucks you into the soothing ambiance as soon as you step through the spa hallway, very akin to a Miyazaki experience (spirited away much?). The saunas have lovely scents, and the peel soap shower does leave the skin looking and feeling amazing. The hot stones are perfect for stretching out years of knots and stiffness. And concluding in the infinity pool is a surreal experience. While you can't see the lake, you do get a view of pretty much every other part of the city and the alps off in the distance. Also, big surprise, the restaurant is delicious. I was starving so order a little and was surprised how good it tasted. Highly recommend the hot chicken panini, the ratatouille quiche, and ginger boost. Had to finish it off with chocolate mousse and cappuccino and let me tell you, that mousse is better than anything you can get in the US. Stunningly delicious. And then back to the spa. So relaxing with the bubbles, you relax feeling like royalty. And if you do it right, you leave the spa without a worry in the world. Bring you swimwear, everything else is provided. Very convenient wrist key (electronic) that also is used to pay at the restaurant. If you're a local you likely already know. If a tourist then give it a shot. It's quite nicely decadent. And very very clean.

"So, what's the 5 year plan?"

I spit out my spa water.

It must've been the stunning backdrop of the Swiss Alps or the steam rising out of the heated rooftop pool that's clouding his vision, but whatever it is, this man wants to have babies with me.

Due to a previous not so successful domestic partnership, I thread carefully. I smile and then said, "Hmm. You tell me."

I heard marriage before carriage, then somehow, we'll magically afford to buy property in the pricey confines of California. In between our musings, we both look into each other's eyes and believe we can have it all.

Because when you've spent the last hour breathing in the pristine Swiss air and soaking in the spa's thermal water, you too shall be relaxed and rejuvenated. It'll foster some deep conversations with your loved ones and/or friends.

The spa's mineral rich thermal water is drawn from the "aqui" springs, deep beneath the city of Zurich. The warm water will soothe tired muscles and release any tension you may have: physically, mentally and emotionally. For 34 CHF (+4 for towel rental) you'll have a day pass to enjoy the converted Hurlimann brewery's vaulted stone walls, a clean dressing area with lockers, bubbling thermal baths, dry sauna and the serene wading pool. You can refuel with healthful salads or tasty treats at their bistro just before you hit the rooftop pool.

The best time to come is at sunset. Although you won't be alone at the pool, the sun's rays will cast a fiery glow on all the beauty around you, your mouth will be hanging open the whole time in disbelief that there's SO MUCH to explore in this world.

Travel. That's part of the 5 year plan too.

      * For my sweetie, Sebastian F. thank you for asking all the important questions in life *

This place has me longing to get back to Zurich as soon as possible. I cannot tell you how much I love this place! I was a guest at the B2 Hotel where this is located and I absolutely loved my experience. Being able to wake up in the morning and be the first one on the roof, all alone, staring at the stunning views of Zurich is truly one of the most magical experiences you could ever have.

The rooftop pool is truly an experience! Two stories below the hotel lies the rest of the spa, with other thermal baths and a Roman bathing experience. The pools are large, relaxing, and peaceful.

They have one day a week dedicated to women so that one part of the pools is just for the ladies...FUN!

It was a bit difficult for me to figure out the bathing ritual experience due to the signs not being in English. No fear, the staff was able to point out to this idiot that there were actually numbers on each sign so that all patrons were able to go from spot-to-spot in the correct order. So thankful for them!

I will ABSOLUTELY be going back the next time I am in Zurich.

This has got to be the coolest thing my husband and I did in Zurich. We arrived about 13:00 and bought the day pass, giving us access to the heated indoor jacuzzi-type pools and the thermal outdoor, rooftop pool. We spent several hours in the thermal outdoor pool enjoying the heat on a cold night the beautiful view of the city. Thermalbad & Spa also has a cool cafe area for drinks and food. Lockers, towels, showers, and hairdryers are available! We would definitely come back here!

Hot tub rooftop views of Zurich- YES PLEASE!

This is a completely worthwhile experience. Spend the money and time to enjoy this place. I would take advantage of being able to relax, plan a meal, and thoroughly enjoy each offering of this spa.

The price is relatively cheap in comparison to other spa experiences in Zurich so I would encourage everyone to make this happen if you have a few hours to relax.

At the cafe they serve quality food and have excellent teas and coffee. The cafe space is well planned for relaxation and privacy.

Upon check-in they give you a RFID bracelet you keep on you to charge everything you need including being able to access your locker so that was very convenient as opposed to bringing money or your card around.

I paid for the extra Roman Spa experience which is basically an area that only people who have paid for it have access to. It is worth it because of that alone- the 7 step treatments is not really noteworthy but the private jacuzzi pools and the fact that there are way less people make it worth it. They also have a mini cafe serving just the Roman Spa patrons.

The spa is very clean and I especially enjoyed the mediation pool. There are several workers allocated to this area so when there are loud guests it does not take long for a staff member to ask them to keep quiet so everyone can get back to peace and quiet.

The rooftop jacuzzi is the piece-de-resistance for this establishment. You are outdoors in fresh cool air, on the roof, overlooking beautiful Zurich while relaxing in a super jetted huge hot tub!! You won't find this anywhere else in Zurich!

The only problem is you are NOT allowed to take any photos. The staff AND other patrons actually enforce this so better not to try as I saw a few patrons reprimanded for attempting to do so.

My suggestion for the company is you allow for a specific time (maybe golden hour!?) for patrons to take their commemorative rooftop pics. It will also do wonders for your marketing from a social-media aspects! Lastly, you get a special locker/ changing room if you pay for the Roman Spa experience. This is a nice feature however this locker room is CO-ED and the showers do not have locks -their just swinging doors people can walk in on.

This typically would not be a problem, however I did have the awkward experience of one of the other patrons aggressively hitting on me and then having to deal with that in the dressing room afterwards was something I would have rather have to deal with.

The website and reviews really do not reflect this experience accurately.

ZURICH THERMALBAD SPA IS the BEST spa experience in town!!

The view in the rooftop bath is just so beautiful. We spend more than an hour just enjoying the views. The water's not too hot, the baths below are okay. Steam room's very good. We went here after a 3 day hiking trip in the Alps, so this was most welcome!

People suck, though. When it was mentioned explicitly to each one of them to not take photos, they still did. They'd sneak their phones in and ruin it for everyone. Afterall, did they really go if there's no photographic evidence?
