Feeling Middle Eastern today ..I was looking for a sit down restaurant ...and came across this place in Orland Park.. so let me start by saying, all the entrees were delicious that we ordered. We started with Hummus, Babaganuaj with pita chips, and falafels which were excellent by the way..Then we ordered chicken shawarma which had a wonderful presentation it was served with the yellow rice and a side of arugula topped with sumac giving it a tangy lemony flavor an also complimented the plate. Served with a chopped salad of cucumber & tomatoes and one had a creamy sauce Not sure if it was a tahini sauce.. ..I have to say I truly enjoyed their food ....and the gentleman that served us was truly nice and efficient ..... I have some tips I would like the owner to take note ..we found a piece of hair in the food ..which you know what sometimes happens.. But there was also an eyelash in one of the carryout boxes so be careful . The bathroom needed help, they have neutral gender bathrooms and no paper towels. Paper towels were located outside the bathroom. The problem becomes especially in a neutral gender bathroom men like to leave the seats up. So how are you going to put the seat down and they had a bowl of soap but ,no soap dispenser. The mirrors were dirty, kind of reminded me of a gas station bathroom and it's a shame because the restaurant itself is beautiful...

We came here after watching steve dolinsky feature it on the news last night. I think they need help with service and they did have a sign out front that mentioned the need. Lol. We waited for a bit to be seated eventhough we were there in the mid afternoon and I made eye contact with one of the servers. It took a long time for the mint tea to come and each entree came out one at a time. We were waiting for the third for a while eventhough it was the shawarma plate which really should have came out first as not much preparation was involved. So we ended up cancelling it since we were really full.
The food was really good and that really redeemed the place.
If they could improve the service, have napkins and utensils available, then I think this place could really do well.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Khalil M.Tinley Park, IL074Dec 26, 2023Updated review
My experience at zwar :- first impression, royal welcoming which made me feel at home , and the the amount of samples so tasty and yummy , the main course meal was tasty and plenty , we had to take a doggie bag upon leaving, the service was 10 stars , I recommend zwar to everyone, the cleanliness and sanitation was A1 , can't wait to go back again, god bless ..

The chef came out to shake our hands. The owner is so welcoming. All the service and staff are amazing even came out to give us some complementary Big samples enough to be a few entrée 's just to let us try some new things that they just created which were amazing. If I can give 1 million stars I would give this place everything they deserve it and the cleanliness and sanitation is very good highly recommend Zwar Restaurant two. Thumbs up.

Excellent, friendly service, delicious food. We had the mixed family grill with shish tawook, ground beef kafta, and lamb shish. They were all good, but the kafta and tawook were definitely tops. Also the hummus with lahme and arayes were so good! As a nice touch, he also provides pickled garnishes, bread and sauce if you'd like to make a sandwich from the meats. The decor is pretty nice with some modern and traditional elements. One of the TV's was playing a children's show, which was nice for our young one.

The guy didn't know how to use the POS system.
I had cash he didn't have change for a 20 for a 10$ order. It was terrible by the time I got home the food was cold. But I mentioned the service was terrible.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Ray H.Orland Park, IL64682322Sep 11, 2022
i really enjoy this restaurant. I love their daily freshly made pita bread. Every friday they make great mansaf and grapeleaves. the lamb kabob is fresh and the basics hummus, falafel and tabbouleh are phenomenal. They were also just featured on NBC's "The Food Guy" with Steve Dolinsky. You should check it out.

Found this restaurant by chance and wow. The meal wasn't just good, the portions were also insane. My partner and I ordered a meal for two and we barely finished half. Pita comes out nice and hot. Everything was so yummy here. So glad we tried something new! Give this place a s

By far the best falafel, hummus & pita bread I have ever had. The baba ganoush was even a hit for my husband who is definitely not an eggplant fan. Everything was very fresh & extras, such as salads & pickled veggies were included. I ordered the veggie kabobs but would probably stick with falafel next time.
The servers were adequately friendly & attentive. Room temperature bottled water was provided & had to wait for napkins & silverware, but overall a good experience. Portions were huge.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
