The stems of the bamboo are very hard, yet remain flexible. The reason for this is the high proportion of silicon. In our body, the elasticity of the connective tissue and the skin's ability to retain moisture are closely linked to the trace element silicon, which the body cannot produce itself. Fast-growing tissue such as hair and fingernails also require silicon for strength and healthy structure. Over time, the silicon content decreases, so an additional natural source of silicon can counteract a deficiency. We only supply bamboo extract with an exceptionally high content of silicic acid (75%) from certified organic cultivation. Organically bound silicon is found in plants and other organisms in the form of orthosilicic acid and is normally poorly available due to the presence of certain dietary fibres. The extraction process, which is carried out using only water and no toxic solvents, flushes out the indigestible fibres from our 75% silica extract. This results in the best bioavailability of the organically bound silicon.
