Fulmer, Geringer Named Academic All-Americans

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's swimmers Amy Fulmer and Maya Geringer have earned Academic All-America honors, announced today and selected by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Fulmer earned First Team All-America honors. This is Fulmer's second straight year being selected as an Academic All-American; she was named to the third team following the 2022-23 season.
 
Fulmer had a phenomenal year in the pool and in the classroom. She claimed her second straight Big Ten title in the 100 free, finishing in a time of 47.48 and was also on the Big Ten champion 400 medley relay (3:28.87) team. At the NCAA Championships, she earned First Team All-American honors in the 100 free, and was an Honorable Mention All-American in the 50 free, 200 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 400 medley relay. Fulmer is a graduate student earning her degree in clinical research and has a GPA of 4.00.
 
Geringer was selected to the Academic All-America Third Team. It is her first time earning Academic All-America honors.
 
At the Big Ten Championships, Geringer finished fourth in the B final of the 500 free (4:41.72) and finished sixth overall in the 1650 free (16:03.63). At the NCAA Championships, she earned Honorable Mention All-American recognition in the 1650 free. Geringer, a senior, will earn her degree in environmental policy and decision making and has a GPA of 3.92.
 
Ohio State is one of just three Big Ten programs (Indiana, Minnesota) to be represented on the Academic All-American teams. The Buckeyes and the Hoosiers each have two honorees.
