Charo’s husband, Kjell Rasten, dead from suicide at 79

The TV producer husband of Charo killed himself in their Beverly Hills home while the flamboyant actress was inside, according to reports.

Kjell Rasten, 79, shot himself Monday afternoon, multiple outlets reported.

Charo ran from the house screaming and covered in blood, a witness told The Blast.

Someone else from the home called 911. The unidentified caller initially thought Rasten had fallen and hit his head, the outlet reported.

It was unclear what led up to the shooting, and there did not appear to be a suicide note left behind, the outlet reported.

Rasten, who worked as a TV producer in the ’70s and ’80s, married Charo — whose real name is María del Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza — in 1978 and became her manager soon after.

The singer was previously married to bandleader Xavier Cugat, from 1966 to 1978, though she has said that was merely a business arrangement.

The couple’s son, Shel, who was born in 1981, is the drummer for the heavy metal band Treazen.

Charo, who is known for her provocative outfits and trademark “Cuchi-cuchie,” appeared on such shows as “The Love Boat,” “Fantasy Island,” “Laugh-In,” “Thumbelina” and “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.”

She appeared with Rasten and their son on a 2015 episode of “Celebrity Wife Swap” with her former “Love Boat” co-star Jill Whelan.

Charo was twice voted Best Classical Flamenco Guitarist in the World by Guitar Player Magazine.
