IC Catholic Names Tom Schergen Next Principal

The current school president will step into the new role after Pamela Levar retires at the end of the year.

ELMHURST, IL — Tom Schergen has been named the next principal of IC Catholic Prep. Schergen, the school's president and former athletic director, will replace retiring principal Pamela Levar at the end of the current school year, according to a news release from the school.

“I am excited to step into this leadership role and I am confident that I will continue to build upon the strengths of our school,” Schergen said. “I am committed to Catholic education and to making IC Catholic Prep the best possible educational experience for young women and men to develop into mature and independent thinkers.”

Schergen has 18 years of experience in leadership roles and public and private schools. Before coming to IC Catholic Prep, Schergen was the director of the McDermott-Doyle Program for Developmental Learning at Mount Carmel High School.

“I am very pleased that upon the recommendation of the board, Tom has been chosen as the new high school principal," said Very Rev. Thomas Paul, V.F., Pastor, Immaculate Conception Parish. “Tom has been a part of ICCP for seven years both as the Athletic Director and President. He has shown great dedication and commitment to our school and is well respected in our community.”
