Celebrity See These Terrified Humans Ride the World's Tallest Water Slide Kansas City's Verrückt claims its first human victims – err, test subjects By Nate Jones Published on July 7, 2014 12:10PM EDT Photo: Schlitterbahn Development Group Last week, we showed you what it was like to go down the world’s tallest water slide: the 170-foot Verrückt at Kansas City’s Schlitterbahn Waterpark. However, careful viewers will remember that, in the original video, the only things joining the camera on the record-breaking slide were a handful of sandbags. But now Schlitterbahn has released video of the ride’s first human victims – err, test subjects – taking the plunge. Much in the manner of a Greek myth, the two men responsible for the slide’s construction were chosen to make the maiden voyage. Fortunately, waterpark designer Jeff Henry and ride engineer John Schooley survived their 17-story plunge, thus preventing them from joining the ranks of inventors killed by their own inventions.
