Description: These worms live in irregularly curved, white, calcareous tubes. The branchial crown consists of about 40 plumes which may be red, pink, orange, or banded with white; one plume is modified to form an operculum.
Size: Tube may be up to about 120mm in length; the branchial crown about 10mm in diameter..
Notes: Usually on the undersurface of rocks in the low intertidal, or on floating docks in bays.
