Well. This is one of the most powerful things that a person can watch, although often recommended for its shock value, the story internally is more than that. It is a tragedy of circumstance, which at the end creates a feeling of anti-catharsis - no sense of closure from the events preceding it. the structure helps this through the way we are given the information slowly, and the sweet, happy moments are categorised in the finale, which when matched to the main motif 'time destroys all things' can be said to have led to the conflict, the randomness of actions causing detrimental effects. Especially in the rape scene, Belluci shows the pain at the loss of a future that was so promising in her eyes. It's harrowing. Overall just an incredible feat of cinematic brilliance, exploring revenge in an entirely human way.

Comes at you like an angry Tyson, not for everyone. The acting was superb. Please note it is very graphic. Peace from London. X
