CHROMOLITHOGRAPH
- ANTIQUE GERMAN FOLKLORE PRINT
This 156 year old chromolithograph was rescued from Brothers Grimm's "GESCHICHTE VON DEN SIEBEN SCHWABEN (THE SEVEN SWABIANS)" published by Druck und Verlag von Arnz & Co. in Dusseldorf in 1856.
This chromo print is from a Brothers Grimm fairy tale "The Seven Swabians" who traveled the world to seek adventure and to do great deeds. They had a spear made and used it to overcome diversity.
CONDITION
The print is in good condition, with minimal, usual age toning. The print is soiled, especially in the right lower corner. (see pics) This soiling is hardly vivible if the print was tightly matted and the margin hidden. The image is about 9 1/2 " x 6 1/2 " on a page that is 10 " x 7 1/4 ".(blank on back)
The chromo is suitable for framing and would be an excellent gift.
