Guide Updates (last 3 revisions will be listed)

February 13th, 2017
  • Beginning of walkthrough changed slightly due to the newest update which changes the layout of the starting area.
  • Couple more sidequests added.
  • Minor tweaks to various parts of the guide.
February 12th, 2017
  • Due to the size of some of the pages, and how today was a major update, I wound up hitting Valve's character limit and have had to split pages. For example, "Crafting & Buildings" are now two separate entries: Crafting and Buildings.
  • Walkthrough of main quest is finished, and work has begun on the side quests (only one for now). Walkthrough has been split into two parts because of the character limit. "First Steps" section was removed, as the main quest is exceptionally short at the moment, making it redundant. Information from First Steps was put into the Walkthrough section.
  • Added a new section: Complete Item Listing. This section lists every single item available in the game and a brief overview of what it does (as usual, under construction).
Choosing Your Character

You can choose one of eight characters to try to keep alive, each with his or her unique stats.

Personally, I recommend Oliver for a first time play, because the slightly reduced construction costs makes it a bit easier to get things built, so it helps while you learn how to play the game. The other best beginner would be Vivian for the almost double amount of crafting materials she can get. These are just my suggestions, feel free to play whoever, and however you like, of course!

Anna
All crafted medical supplies are twice as effective.

Robin
+5% speed bonus (movement speed)
+5% attack speed bonus
+5% ranged attack power bonus
+10% stamina recovery speed

Cole
+10% melee attack power bonus
+5% stamina recovery speed

William
+10% defense
+5% added protection from the cold

Chang
-10% less cost for learning new skills

Vivian
+5% crit chance, or 10% if attacked from behind
+40% more wood gathered per swing
+40% more ore gathered per swing

Jeffrey
+25% durability of crafted items

Oliver
-10% less cost for building
-10% less cost for crafting basic resources
Basic Tips & Tricks
When using rocks to stun enemies, there's a period in which they're not affected by stuns immediately after being stunned. This is about two seconds. Your rocks will still do damage, but won't stun them again until the timer is up.

Take advantage of the storage slot in your shelter (or slots once you upgrade enough), as managing your limited inventory space is a difficult aspect of the early game.

When placing a rabbit trap, place it near where you've seen a rabbit, and it'll eventually catch it for you. Don't just randomly place it anywhere, as you may be setting it out to trap nothing.

Before leaving the starting area, have one stack of wood and one stack of ore, to give you plenty of room for crafting fires along the way, and replacing your tools and weapon.

Bbuild a chest and load it up with resources, tools and food. When you die, you'll start back at the plane, and it'll be nice to have a stash to take with you. The chest shouldn't disappear when you die, but you will lose your workshop and shelter.

Always make sure to have 20 Wood and 5 Ore for your upgraded shelter, so that you can sleep through a blizzard. Your stats won't increase at all, but the two minute sleeping freezes (no pun intended) them in place, allowing you to survive the onslaught of snow.

The torch is not a guaranteed defense against wolves. They seem to have no issue still killing you.

More to be added.
Survival Stats (The HUD) & Status Effects
Survival Stats

Using the image above, which is what you'll always see, we'll go over what everything represents.

At the top left, you'll have icons for your journal and map. You can access these by clicking the icons, or pressing the corresponding key. Underneath these icons will be your goals and quests that you can follow to advance the story.

At the bottom left, you have your three important survival stats. The top is your health, which can deplete any number of ways: by becoming hungry, too cold, attacked by enemies, etc. The middle bar is your hunger which you need to keep by, surprisingly, eating food. The bottom bar is your temperature. The lower it gets, the colder you get, the closer you are to death. Warm up immediately if it drops too low.

At the bottom middle, you have your ever basic inventory management. From left to right, it's 1 to 8 to select the corresponding item. This is how you do most things, just like the majority of other early access games.

At the bottom right, you have icons for your inventory and build menu, and just like the journal and note, you can open them by pressing the corresponding key or clicking the icon. Just above these are where most tooltips will appear, like the one you see telling you about the equipment window.

At the top right, you'll see the current weather, the day and the time. When the sun gets over to the right, it means nightfall is coming, which means your temperature will lower more rapidly.

At the top middle of all of this is the compass. North always points up, it doesn't rotate with you.

Durability Indicator

Every item you craft has durability, and when it runs out, the item is no longer usable. When your durability gets low enough, you'll see an icon pop up on the top right under the weather and time.

Status Effects

When you're affected by something, either negative or positive, an icon will pop up here. Hovering over it will show you what the effect is. You could be poisoned (which will also change your health bar color), hungry, cold, eating something, or at the very worst, death approaches. If you see the last one, which is a skull and crossbones, correct whatever the issue is immediately. Seek warmth, eat something, or run away from what's killing you.

<Food Type> - Shows up when eating; <Food Type> will be what you're currently eating
Bleeding - When you're losing health due to bleeding
Blizzard- When there's a blizzard outside, increases how quickly you get cold; sleep or take shelter
Full Satiety - Occurs when hunger is maxed out
Heat - When near a heat source, be it a torch or campfire
Indigestion - Reduces movement speed
Gluttony - Eat two pieces of meat too quickly and you'll get this, which lowers attack and movement speeds
Stunned - When you're stunned by an enemy attack
Wasteland I - When you're on the fringes of the world, you'll get this debuff that quickens your cold warmth depletion
Wasteland II - When you're on the very outside of the world, this makes your warm disappear really quickly. Keep going and you'll hit an invisible war

Here are some status effect symbols. Green arrows represent a bonus, red is a penalty. There are many more that you'll come across. Food ones are pretty much the same, they just show the icon of the food you've eaten. In the example here, that'd be the Northern Mushroom.

Character Skills

There are five skill trees available for you to put points into, each one giving you boosts to a different aspect. It's pretty typical fare, and if you've played any game with a skill tree system, you'll know what this is. If a stat has multiple points, say 0/4, it means you can put up to four points into that skill to max it out, but you don't need to do that in order to move on to the next tier.

When you earn a skill point, it will appear on the bottom left above your stats and status effects. To max out every skill, you will need 83 points total.

Cooking & Healing
Cooking is one of the most important things you'll do, as it'll keep you alive, and what else is more beneficial to survival than not dying, right?

If a food item can be picked, it'll be displayed in the tooltip. Some items can be eaten without being cooked, but may not be to your benefit. For example, mushrooms. You can eat them without cooking,
but will make you sick, which decreases your stats.

To cook food, you simply drag it over top of a campfire and ensure the campfire is lit. An icon of the food will appear over the top of the fire, and when it's done, it'll fall and bounce to the floor, waiting for you to pick it up.

Food Items

The following list are the food items available.

Food

Notes
Northern Mushrooms

Mushrooms have a very high chance of making you sick unless cooked

Huge mutant meat (raw)
Huge mutant meat (cooked)
A very, very good hunger filler
Huge piece of meat (raw)
Huge piece of meat (cooked)
Top of the line, will fully fill your hunger

Healing

The best way to stay healthy is to not let it drop in the first place. Since that is an impossible feat, you can find green leafy items called Northern Herb. Their main purpose is to be used in a healing salve, an item you craft at the workshop, which will improve your health.

You will also be able to find items throughout the world, such as medkits, which will heal a great amount of health. Eating good foods, such as cooked meat, will also increase your health slightly, but the best way will be salves or medkits.
Crafting
In order to craft items, you first need to build a Workshop. Once constructed, you then use the workshop to craft pretty much everything you'll need to survive.

Buildings
There are six basic buildings you can construct, each of which can be upgraded, using more resources and providing additional benefits. Buildings also have a "pack up" option, which allows you to dismantle and place the building in your inventory so that you can place it elsewhere in the world. Some buildings also have a Sleep option, which lets you powernap basically, as you'll sleep for two minutes. This is in real time, and has a cost. At the moment, it's 18 Wood and 4 Ore, but I haven't gotten too far yet, so not sure if this increases as you progress. Your cold and hunger will stop decreasing, perhaps buying you time until the day so it's warmer, but you will not gain any either.

Shelter

Level 1 Cost: Free
What it does: Gives protection from the elements, of course, and allows you to access your character's various skills

Level 2 Cost: 20 Wood, 20 Ore
What it does: Gives you access to level 2 skills, one slot for storing an item, and adds protection from the cold

Level 3 Cost: 45 Wood, 45 Ore
What it does: Gives you access to level 3 skills, an additional storage slot (for two total), and increases cold protection

Level 4 Cost: 70 Wood, 70 Ore, 2 Hide
What it does: Gives access to level 4 skills, a third storage slot, and more protection from the cold

Level 5 Cost: 95 Wood, 95 Ore, 4 Hide
What it does: Gives you access to the last tier of skills, a fourth slot for storage, and the most protection from the cold

Workshop

Level 1 Cost: 20 Wood, 10 Ore
What it does: Gives you access to pretty much every item in the game, making this an essential building and one of the first you should make

Level 2 Cost: 50 Wood, 35 Ore
What it does: Gives you access to level 2 items and adds protection from the cold

Level 3 Cost: 85 Wood, 65 Ore
What it does: Gives you access to level 3 items, and increases your cold protection

Level 4 Cost: 120 Wood, 95 Ore, 1 Hide
What it does: Gives you access to level 4 items, and increases cold protection yet again

Level 5 Cost: 155 Wood, 125 Ore, 2 Hide
What it does: Gives you access to the final tier of items, and the highest protection against the cold

Chest

Cost: 30 Wood
What it does: Store items inside. They will be accessible by both you and all your co-op partners
(there are no additional levels for chests)

Campfire

Cost: 20 Wood, 5 Ore
What it does: Creates warmth, cooks food and allows you to craft torches
(there are no additional levels for campfires)

Sign

Cost: 15 Wood
What it does: Allows you to place a sign in the world, for either future references or for others to read
(there are no additional levels for signs)

Furnace

Cost: 10 Wood, 30 Ore
What it does: Converts ore into iron, but takes time. Burns 60 Ore over about thirty seconds to produce 1 Iron
(there are no additional levels for furnaces)
Enemies
Aside from the cold, you'll have several enemies to deal with, the most deadly of which are bears and wolves (for now; could be more if you survive longer). Remember that many enemies can be stunned if you throw rocks at them, allowing you to get some free hits in. A good tactic is to stun an enemy, run up and whack them, run away, stun them again, and repeat the process until they're dead and the tasty innards are yours.

Bear

Status: Aggressive
Bears hit hard and will take a lot of attacks to defeat, but they should drop a decent amount of loot, and the meat will be quite tasty. They're slightly slower than your sprint, so as long as you have sprint unlocked, and the energy to use it, you should be fine.

Polar Bear

Status: Aggressive
Thankfully not found that often, these bears are more deadly than the other bears, and that's saying a lot. They hit harder, they do not get stunned as easily, and take a few more hits to bring down. Good luck.

Wolf - Baby

Status: Aggressive
I say baby, because there's a larger version, but don't let that fool you; they're deadly. They hit less hard than their counterparts, but when you have a stick and a torch, does that really matter?

Wolf - Adult

Status: Aggressive
Hits harder than the other wolves. You can distinguish them by the fur around their neck.

Deer

Status: Passive
Will run away from the start; use traps to keep them from taking off.

Boar

Status: Passive, but will retaliate if attacked, and may attack if you get too close
Likely the third animal you'll hunt after rabbits and deer, they're probably going to be the first ones who fight back instead of just running away.

Rabbit

Status: Passive
The most basic of animals, will provide you with meat to cook so you don't, you know, die.

Werewolf

Status: Guess
I've only found him once, and that's a good thing. Took me several deaths and lots of equipment to finally kill the thing. Drops some good meat and tendons/bones.

Mutant

Status: Aggressive
Unless you're exploring and doing side quests, you'll most likely only run into this guy once, which is a good thing, because like the bears, they hit hard.
Journal

The Journal keeps track of pretty much everything, and will be your go to source for a lot of information.

The Active Quests tab will show you which quests are currently active (shocking, right?). The name of the quest will appear on the right, the boxes on the right will give you a brief rundown of what the quest is, and the objectives you need to fulfill to complete the quests. You can also toggle quest tracking on and off.

The Completed Quests tab will show you quests you've finished. Again, shocking, right?

The Quest Items tab will show you items you have, or need, that are required to complete a quest objective.

The Stats tab will, I assume, show various stats, such as survival time, distance covered, items crafted, etc. It's grayed out for me, and has been for a fair amount of game time, so I'm not sure if I've yet to unlock that tab, or if stat tracking isn't currently in the game.
Map

When you first start out, you'll have a very basic map available to you, and it'll gradually expand and fill in more information as you explore the world. You'll eventually get icons added that show you where things are. Using the fully filled in map above, we'll go over what the icons are.

Orange Arrow with a Circle is your location.

Orange Icons are your buildings. The star is your tent, wrench is the workshop, etc. If you pack up a building and place it elsewhere, the icon will change to the new location.

Green Door signify a warehouse, building, or other large structure. You'll always find an item here, maybe some food, maybe a weapon, or maybe some a hat, as you can't craft them. You can find a motorcycle helmet, a hazmat helmet, and a cap, to name a few.

Green ? is a special structure, like a boat. You'll find an item and most likely some bits of the story in the form of a note or message on a computer terminal.

Green Radar Dish is a radar tower, or similar building. If you plop a generator into the console and use it, you'll get a portion of your map filled in.

Yellow ! is a main quest location.

Blue ! is a sidequest location.

Red Power Tower are power lines. Not sure if these serve any purpose other than for one of the early quests.

White Campfire is the location of a campfire you've built. It'll always appear, even if the fire is out, so you can head back to one to cook or warm up.

Full Map

This map was posted in my Discord server[www.discord.me] by manicslave. It's been slightly reduced in quality than what was posted due to Steam's file size limit on images.

This map only represents the first part of the game. There is an area that leads to the second part, which isn't available yet. That leaves a lot of side areas to explore, books to find, backstory to learn about and wolves to be killed by.
Death

It'll happen. You know it will. Just skip the first four stages of grieving and jump right to acceptance, and you'll be okay.

When you die, all your items will pop out of your body like blood and guts in a very bad horror movie. Those items will remain there, and if you get back to your body, you can retrieve them. You can also have a friend retrieve them in co-op mode.

You'll also lose any skill point progress, and your buildings (except for the chest) will be destroyed. You're basically back to a level one character with no bonuses, but your exploration and quest progress is saved, so you can continue on what you were doing.

Walkthrough - Main Quest Part 1

Tutorial
Overview: Very easy to do. I don't know why I'm even including it here. Note the description says six items, but it's actually seven. Likely a typo.

Once your shelter is down, go punch several trees and an ore mound. You're pretty much going to follow the tutorial up until the second quest, where it tells you to venture east. Place your workshop close to the shelter, and the campfire as well. The campfire can be a bit further to the east or west because you don't need two sources of heat overlapping each other. You'll want to make a pickaxe at this point as well, then chop and chop until you can build the remaining four buildings. You may as well get your mini-base started.

Once your two main buildings are down, go pick up everything you can surrounding the plane. You should be able to find a couple cans of food, perhaps some berries, maybe even some mushrooms. You should be able to find three to four mushrooms, and two or three berries in the immediate area. Cook the mushrooms on the campfire. I'd suggest getting enough wood and ore to upgrade the workshop to level two before you head out, so that you can craft the basic protection items. Lastly, make sure you use the shelter and spend any skill points you may have earned (likely mobility and gathering).

Optional: When you die, you lose all your character progress, as well as your main buildings. To help recover, you can build a chest. It shouldn't disappear when you die, and you can load it up with some resources, a tool or two, some food and one more item, so you'll have a bit of an emergency fund, essentially, as you venture out to your corpse (or to wherever you were heading).

When you're ready to head east, pack up your shelter and workshop; you can only build one of each, so if you venture too far, you'll always have to come back to where they are to build or upgrade skills. Keep in mind that the buildings maintain their level, so if they're both level two when you pick them up, they'll be level two when you place them again. Replacing them does not cost any additional resources.

Quest Objectives:
  • Build a shelter
  • Build a workshop
  • Enter the workshop and craft a stone axe
  • Equip a stone axe or any other weapon
  • Build a campfire
  • Light the campfire
  • Craft a stick and use the campfire to turn it into a torch
Head to the front of the plane, so the fire is pretty much centered.

Quest: Iris Flight 816
Overview: Because it's procedurally generated, I can't give you exact directions, but just head east and you'll eventually come across the tail end of the plane on fire. You'll know you're in the right area when your screen starts to get brighter.

Go west east, young man or woman, and you'll eventually come across the tail end of the plane. It's usually about three "blocks" of the map, and usually just above you if you're heading straight east. Your quest will update automatically once you get close.

You can place your workshop and shelter if you want, but I'd recommend a campfire for sure. Pick up the generator, the large box which is quite obviously something special. It will require space in your inventory. Warm up if you need to, then go slightly southeast of the plane, and you'll come across a small building. Click on the door to open it and go inside.

This is the radio tower. It will not provide any warmth, so don't hang around too long. Stick the generator into the console and turn it on. Let there be light! You'll get a notice that your map has been updated, so if you open it, you'll see that the entire area has been revealed! This isn't to say the entire map, but the area immediately surrounding the tower. You'll notice that the power lines you need to follow will lead into unexplored areas. Be sure to grab the large yellow item to the right of the console, it's a food ration.

You now need to find where the power lines go. If you noticed on your map, you'll see three red icons almost directly north; head up there. Be sure to cook some food, or hunt if you need to, get yourself fully warmed up, then pack up the shelter and workshop and head up north toward the power lines.

That about covers your first little bit into the game. If you want to continue following with the walkthrough, feel free to jump to that section. But considering the type of game, the walkthrough will not be exact, and you should also go and explore and attempt to survive on your own, using the walkthrough as a last resort.

Quest: Iris Flight 816
Find out where the power lines go

Once you're ready to find the power lines, head north. You'll find them several blocks north and then slightly east.

IMAGE

If you follow them north, you'll come to a little gated area. From this, continue following. Make sure you stop to hunt, gather, cook and warm up as necessary! From this point on, I won't remind you to take care of your stats, as that should be pretty standard by now. You'll know you've reached the end point when your quest updates. To further the quest, you're probably going to travel north until it curves west, but if you go east, you may come across a building that will have some items inside.

As you continue following, the lines will split off every few substations. Just keep going until you find the correct path. Eventually you'll get to the radio station. Set up your camp outside, and make sure you're adequately protected and have a decent weapon. Remember that because the game is open ended, you can do the quest at any time, you're not forced to do it all one after the other. I say this because you may be in for a surprise at the next part.

Activate the radio station in the Harrington Radioactive Waste Repository

IMAGE

Head inside, and slowly make your way through the building. There should be a medical kit in the first big room you come across, possibly a weapon as well. Be careful when you get to the large, square shaped room, as there is most likely a deadly creature in here. It's Michael J. Fox from Teen Wolf! Not really, but it is a werewolf. You can try to kill it, run from it, do whatever you like. If you can build the iron trap, you can use three or four of them in a line and kite the werewolf into each one, damaging him greatly. However you choose to proceed, in one of the rooms to the side of this one you'll find what is a console.

Use it to get a keycard and a quest update. Before leaving, you can get another keycard from the opposite side, which will open a door to a room with a wrench and some food. Leave the building when you're ready, and don't forget to pack up your warehouse and shelter.

Find out where the second power line goes

If you look at your map, you should see another set of power lines to the northeast, that aren't connected to the ones you just followed, and continue following them. For me, the target wound up being very east. Again, as the game is procedurally generated, this may mean nothing to you. Eventually you'll come across the radio tower.

Activate the Hydra-1 Radio Tower using the access key

You'll eventually come to another fenced in area, and be careful, because there are bears surrounding it. In addition to the bears, there may also be a polar bear within the enclosure, so keep an eye out.

Assuming you survive, you'll want to grab the generator that's in this area, probably to the right of the console. It'll be tucked in one of the destroyed pieces of building. Use it on the console, and the area will get brighter; let there be light, they said. Use the console once again, and this uses the keycard you found, which then triggers the next part of the quest.

Reach the bridge

Now comes the final leg of this part of your journey. You'll want to head all the way to the east, which shouldn't actually be that far. Your best bet of finding it is to head directly east of the radio tower until you reach the large chunk of ice, then go south one block. It's here you'll find a building and a bridge.

Unlock the bridge using the access key

When you get to this new area, you'll have to fight a man. Well, what used to be a man. I guess he's a man-beast-abomination hybrid? I don't know. Either way, you need to fight him, and he drops mutant meat, so clearly he wasn't a normal man.

But I digress. Once he's dead, go into the smaller of the two buildings, and use the console to unlock the bridge.

Go over the bridge

You're almost there! Go to the bridge you just unlocked.

Start crossing the bridge. You've finally made it, and have survived what the weird, weird wilderness of Alaska has thrown at you.

Except not really. As you see someone loudly proclaim, before shooting themselves, THERE'S NO WAY OUT OF HERE. Whatever this -- thing -- is, he's not friendly, and if you stick around too long, it's pretty much instantaneous death. Shortly after the attack, he'll take out the bridge, and... that's that.

As of right now, this is the end of the game. Whatever remains beyond that bridge is not yet here, and will be available in a future update. If you attempt to continue east, you'll be stopped by the invisible wall.

If you want to continue doing sidequests, and checking out the various locations, you can head back. The bridge may look destroyed, but you can drop down below it and then come up out from either above or below.

Quest Objectives:
  • Check out the smoke to the east of the crash ♥♥♥♥. Use your map (M) to avoid getting lost
  • Look for something useful near the tail of the airplane
  • Find a place to use the generator
  • Find out where the power lines go
  • Activate the radio station in the Harrington Radioactive Waste Repository
  • Find out where the second power line goes
  • Activate the Hydra-1 radio tower using the access key
  • Reach the bridge
  • Unlock the bridge using the access key
  • Go over the bridge
Walkthrough - Side Quests
Side quests are denoted by the blue circle with an exclamation mark in it. I can't tell you where they are exactly, because they'll be in a random spot each time. Despite their random location, the actual content of the quest will remain the same.

Shadows in the Night
You found a walled-in warehouse whose gate only opens at a certain time. Get inside and explore it.

You need to get into the warehouse. The gate is around the southeast, and will be closed between 6:00pm and 10:00pm. If you try to open it during these hours, you'll get nowhere. Come anytime other than those hours and you'll be able to activate it.

Once inside, you'll need to find a keycard, which should be on the west side of the enclosure. It was on a box for me. While trying to find it, you'll need to contend with these weird, purple ghost things. They can't be hurt (that I noticed), but you can run away from them pretty easy.

Once inside the building, you can collect a few items and possibly read up on some backstory.

Quest Objectives
  • Get inside the warehouse area
  • Restart the generator to turn the lights back on
The Wrong Place at the Wrong Time
You discovered a crashed helicopter with a man standing next to it. Find out what happened.

This will be a fenced area with a crashed helicopter and a building requiring a generator to get into. Generators can be found at the random spots with a green hangar door icon.

Once you approach the helicopter, the man is actually a mutant and will come out and attack you. He's a good fight, so be prepared to stun and run away if you need to. Once dead, put the generator into the red square to unlock the door, then go inside the building. There will also be a note outside that you can read, that will help tell the story.

Not much to do in here, and simply entering the building will trigger the completion of the quest. At the back of the room you'll likely find a crowbar and a yellow helmet.

Quest Objectives
  • Approach the man by the helicopter
  • Find out what happened to the man from the helicopter
  • Determine the cause of the mutation inside the building
Prisoners
While wandering near the entrance to the DEF-1 Testing Site you heard a message saying that five people were trapped somewhere inside. Try to save them.

You'll get this quest once you see some dialogue appear at the bottom of the screen. It's a message, on loop, from a group of survivors who are low on food and are looking for help. If you follow the snow as it slopes downward, you'll come across a building.

Once inside, explore and make your way around. At some point you'll come across a door blocked by rubble, and you need to clear it. At the far end of the building, there will be a turret that you can access. The computer in the room just to the north of the turret will allow you to select between a machine gun mode, or machine gun plus rocket launcher. You can use it now if you want, but the turret won't do anything.

In this room here, activate the box to build a turret target, then go back to where the blockage was and put the target in front. Return to the box, build another target, and place it in the hallway leading to the blockage, somewhere in the middle. If going by the above image, you can place it nearby the second door at the far right side of the picture. Go back to the room and activate the turret. The machine gun will destroy the first target, and the rocket will take out the second target, as well as the blockage. The reason you needed two targets is because the target near the blockage would be out of range.

Quest Objectives
  • Find the entrance to the DEF-1 Testing Site
  • Find the room where the people are trapped
  • Find a way to clear the blockage
Treasures of the Food Warehouse
You found a warehouse that looks quite large, but its garages are locked. Find a way to open them.

When you come across this large building, you'll find two garage doors, as well as a basic door. You'll want to go in the normal door.

From the above image, go to your left, which will take you down a set of stairs into the basement.

The basement is pretty straightforward. There will be a couple of hallways and two locked doors. You'll want to make your way through the hallways until you get to a dead end with what appear to be breakers on the wall.

Use the breaker on the left, and this will open the garage doors. It'll also open one of the doors in the hallway, which has a mutant inside. You can either kill him or run upstairs, he shouldn't follow, but if you're in need of meat or supplies and you won't die, then go ahead and kill him. The other door also has a mutant inside. When you're ready, go back upstairs, leave the building, then go around the side and go through one of the garage doors.

Inside, you'll find tons of food items, as well as some syringes. The super muffins in the second warehouse refill a pretty good amount of health, and there's five of them, so take them and enjoy the feast.

Quest Objectives
  • Find out whether or not there is a way to infiltrate the warehouse
  • Go down to the basement of the warehouse
  • Find a way to unlock both gates of the warehouse garages
  • Go up and find out what is in the garages
Lost Future

You'll come across a large area that's comprised of many buildings. You'll know it's a special area because there will be not one or two, but four blue circles to denote it.

Once you start exploring, you'll find a few notes that will fill you in more on what's happened in this wretched land. You'll also trigger a quest update when you get near the main building, which is a long garage filled with the green toxic smoke. At the top end of this room you'll see a hatch. It's not usable, but you should throw something down there. Pretty much any item will work, as long as it is not a throwing stone.

\

Once you do this, a man will emerge. This man is Isaac, and he wants to be your friend. By which I mean he wants to eat your face. So, don't let that happen and kill the poor guy. Collect his meat and items and enjoy a quest completion.

@CrazyCanuck Removed my comment reffering to the turret, i was clearly tired and scrolled down to fast thinking it was the end of the paragraph. Excuse me.
