Rampion Community Benefit Fund.

The Rampion Community Benefit Fund is a community benefit fund set up by Rampion Offshore Wind Ltd and managed by Sussex Community Foundation. The Fund seeks to support charities and community groups through the energy crisis and beyond, while tackling carbon emissions and climate change.

The Fund supports organisations working for the benefit of the people of Sussex within the area of benefit, from Littlehampton Harbour in the west, to Beachy Head in the east and up to the A272 near Twineham in the north close to the wind farm’s onshore substation.

What can you apply for?

  • Grants of up to £10,000 for community projects in the Rampion area of benefit
  • Grants of up to £20,000 for capital projects to improve community buildings in terms of energy conservation /renewable energy generation

For the 2024 programme the Rampion Community Benefit Fund will focus on supporting projects that benefit local communities and those with links to the environment and ecology, climate change and energy.

The Fund will support new or improved community buildings/village halls through energy conservation (reducing energy use) and renewable energy generation to reduce CO2 emissions, raise awareness of energy solutions and provide lasting benefits to community organisations through annual energy cost savings. For capital projects for community buildings, we recommend carrying out a building energy audit to inform your proposals. You can find a list of accredited energy auditors here.

Priority will be given to projects that support long term initiatives that mitigate against an increase in energy costs and support sustainable buildings.

Who can apply?

The Fund is open to charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations, operating within the Fund benefit area, from Littlehampton Harbour in the west, to Beachy Head in the east and up to the A272 near Twineham in the north close to the wind farm’s onshore substation.

If you intend to apply for a capital project of more than £10,000, please arrange a call with our Rampion Grants Officer prior to submitting your application, allowing plenty of time to complete your application.
